Personal Statement
I am an educator, instructional designer, technologist, and program administrator partnering with
faculty subject matter experts to construct engaging learning experiences. My diverse practice
ranges from university to medical school to community college settings at both nonprofit and
for-profit institutions. I serve learners at the dual-enrolled, undergraduate, and graduate levels;
meeting needs related to both high achievement and high risk. My skill set includes: program
development, curriculum design, educational technology, faculty development, accreditation,
and assessment. As a researcher, I have a keen interest in the connection, development, and
education of dispersed and commuter student and faculty audiences.
Noted Accomplishments
● Promoting highly-interactive designs for courses that incorporate emerging
technologies and champion accessibility & intellectual property compliance;
● Serving as a conference chair, planner, & presenter for national and state events
related to LMS pedagogy and other instructional technology topics;
● Leading design & institutional adoption of flexible, research-based training (e.g.,
microlearning for adjunct faculty, scenario-based advisor training, etc.);
● Implementing best practice protocols & tools for course design and program and
course administration from nationally-recognized groups such as Quality Matters;
● Securing comprehensive accreditation to launch fully-online programs at Mid
Michigan College via the Higher Learning Commission.
