Statement of Purpose- MBA

Introduction: - Hi, my name is Priyankkumar Chaudhari born on 03/05/1994 and I am from Vijapur, India.
I belong to a family where knowledge is a spark of radiance in dimness. I am brought up in roots where
my chase for commercial and organizational knowledge is understood and appreciated. My father, Mr.
Kanjibhai Chaudhari is a farmer who has inspired me a lot in every stage of life where and when I was
unprovoked. My mother, Mrs. Puriben Chaudhari is Housewife. I have an elder brother whose name is
Ajay Chaudhari working in Australia. My father & family have the most direct and lasting impact on my
learning and development of social competence. When my family is involved, I achieve more, exhibit
more positive attitudes and behaviour and feel more comfortable in new situations. My father has always
motivates me so far my education is concerned. It is with his support, I have been able to do well in my
academic overall. My father’s annual income is Rs. 7, 67,240.00 and my brother’s annual income is AUD $
53,814.00.
As I am belonging from an educated family, I was inspired to be a scholar student. I have completed my
10th (S.S.C.) in 2009 with 58.77%. After S.S.C., I have cleared 12th (H.S.C.) exam from Arts stream in 2011
with 70.43%. After completion of higher secondary, I have discussed with my family regarding my interest
and hence I have researched to study Hotel Management course. As there was not any university
available in Gujarat having course of Hotel Management, I have joined Jivaji University, Gwalior. I have
completed Bachelor of Science – Hotel Management course with 67.65%. As I have completed my
Bachelor degree from one of India’s reputed university with good marks, one of the leading Hotel based
in North Gujarat, which is near to my hometown, has offered me a job. I have taken this opportunity and
started working with Krishna Residency in Hotel as an Assistant Manager in House Keeping Department.
This encounter happened to be my first exposure to the world of Hotels.
Even though I had been to many hotels earlier but this was just another world. That was the start of the
process of falling in love with the career in Tourism & Hotel Management industry. I practically ran the
House keeping Department and many times Front Desk Operations, also worked as a night auditor, staff
manager etc.
This experience proved to be as rewarding as it was challenging, and I expect that the leadership
experience I have acquired will be very useful in my future career prospects.

Australia: - While researching, I found many countries options but when I have communicated with
friends, families and seniors, they have suggested me for Australia to choose for my next study
destination. After consulting few agents, I became more positive for Australia and hence I have started
researching for Australia.
Australia is one of the most developed countries in the world, in terms of quality of living (standards).
Australia is a dynamic, vibrant country with energetic, friendly people. It is a multicultural country which
is English-speaking, safe and friendly society in which students can learn and travel freely. Australia is
rapidly growing as one of the most popular destinations for international student to attend and is located
near Asia, one of the fastest developing regions, so has immediate ties to most powerful economic hubs
in the world. For education, Australian Universities are offering variety of courses of different unique
specializations, which are very well recognized at international level and especially in the South-Asian
region. Thanks to the government support, Australian Universities have proved their determination in
research in the world over last few decades. They prepare students as per the requirements of the
international industries of the given field. The Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) is regulated by
Industrial Department of the Australian Government.
I have chosen to study in Australia because apart from being a prominent learning centre, Australia offers
a comfortable learning environment for advanced studies. In addition to this, open and flexible learning
environment of Australia would provide me a strong platform to enhance my cross culture knowledge,
enrich my mind with academic, professional and personal growth. The emphasis were given on safety and
the resources of teaching, our fees which are being protected by the government through CRICOS,
Institutions value on the parameter of global rating, degree value back out here in India. When I tried to
get the data of Indian student migrate to Australia, I was surprised every year approximately 3 lacks
students are going abroad for study and out of that 30% alone prefer to Australia and rest migrate to the
different parts of the world. Australia is a popular destination for international students with a strong
economy, work benefits for new graduates, relaxed culture and high quality education system. Four of
the world’s top 10 liveable cities are in Australia. Australia is home to some of the world’s leading
universities. Being UK, USA on the top, for Australia holds a cheaper cost of living whilst its institutions
maintaining the same quality of study and living standards as its counterparts. Wide variety of course
options with different types of syllabus with extracurricular activities and specializations too, we matter
of attraction for this country. Moreover, for taking any decision in addition to different factors a
reference factor matters a lot and most of the references were going to Australia only. So moving out of
the reference was not advisable or looking logical to me. Even if we see climatic condition, natural
beauty, environmental issues, density of population, course fee, degree value etc., the Australia will
always be ahead then rest of the world.
In addition to these facts, In USA I need to clear GRE exam if I want to go for master degree in my field.
Similarly, UK offers one year course which is not valid in my country. Furthermore, being equipped with
an Australian degree, my future prospects will be brighter and will provide me with an opportunity to
demonstrate my specialized knowledge, skills and techniques to win through a rewarding and successful
career back in the India.

Apart of above reasons, below are the reasons I have choose to study in Australia.
1. Third most popular study destination behind the USA and the UK in English speaking countries.
2. High quality of education.
3. Admissions on the basis of previous academic score and an English language proficiency test.
Requires less coaching/preparation time.
4. Home to 8/100 top universities and 5/30 best student cities in the world.
5. Excellent education system and high standard of living.
6. Global recognition. Degree is acceptable world-wide.
7. International exposure. Genuine Australian experience.
8. Cost of living is considerably lower than the USA and the UK (Currency conversion rate).
9. Diversity of education (wide range of programs). 1100 institutes offering 22000 courses.
10. Technology (innovations, quality of research resources). Has produced 15 Nobel Prize laureates,
innovations and discoveries like penicillin, IVF, ultrasound, Wi-Fi, the bionic ear, cervical cancer
vaccine and black box flight recorders.
11. Work Rights (20 hours/week while studying) and full time PSW permit (2 years). International
work experience adds value to career.
12. ESOS framework protects international student’s rights.
13. CRICOS registered courses and universities.
14. Safe environment, cultural diversity and friendly natives.
15. Adaptable climatic conditions.
16. Scholarships to eligible candidates (up to $250 million for scholarship and other financial aid by
Australian government).
17. Ranks 10h in the Universities 2017 U21 Ranking of National Higher Education Systems.
18. No entrance exam such as GMAT is required unlike in USA and Canada.

Home-country (India) or other popular study destinations (UK/USA/Canada): -

1. Home-country (India): Many renowned universities offers MBA, however students need to clear
difficult and time consuming entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, SNAP, IIFT, ATMA, etc.
2. Education system is more theory focussed and lack of practical knowledge in colleges.
3. Follows out-dated curriculum and is revised in late intervals.
4. Method of assessment is mostly examinations rather than projects, assignments, case studies,
etc.
5. Less focus or no focus on developing individual personality, building confidence, improving
communication skills, building networks and developing cross cultural skills.
6. No focus on self-study and research.
7. Private b-schools, institutes and colleges demands high tuition fee (even more than Australia).
8. Reservation system is a major drawback.
9. USA: - Requires GMAT and TOEFL making it a difficult and time consuming process. Currency
exchange rate is high and so is the living cost, tuition fee and other expenses. Must have
completed at least 4 years of education (graduation or diploma). Some universities also require
work-experience in related field.
10. UK: - Generally offers 1 year MBA course which isn’t acceptable with context to employment
opportunities in India. Currency exchange rate is high and so is the living cost, tuition fee and
other expenses. Work-experience is sometimes mandatory for admission in MBA course.
Extremely cold winters. No PSW opportunity.
11. Canada: - Climatic conditions are difficult to adapt. Extremely cold for most of the time of the
year. Need to clear GMAT. 16 years of education is required. Sometimes work experience is
required.

Course Content: - While researching and exploring various career options, The MBA has been designed to
provide a rigorous, flexible, course structure. The structure provides graduates with skills in analysis,
creative thinking and problem-solving. Students focus on a theoretical understanding of management,
the practical application of knowledge to business functions and the ability to lead and communicate with
others.
The Master of Business Administration provides specialist professionals from any discipline with the
breadth of perspective that is essential to succeed in a general management role. It extends the
theoretical framework graduates acquired in their undergraduate studies and overlays this with a core
curriculum of Strategy, Marketing, Finance, and Organisational Behaviour. The curriculum is delivered in a
context of ethical behaviour, social responsibility, and sustainability as detailed in the United Nations
PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education) initiative. Working both in groups and
individually students integrate theory with practice, and through a process of analysis, discussion, and
reflection equip themselves with the knowledge and skills to capably and confidently undertake senior
general management roles.
