Keeping animals in a zoo, without doubt it is unethical but mandatory to protect them from
predators, bad weather and food availability. However, many people think that zoos plays vital
role for entertaining and environmentally whereas others argue that humans are no rights to
preserve species in zoos. This essay will describe both sides.
As zoos are an artificial environment which made by people for wild animals so animal can lose
their vital survival skills. Furthermore, keeping animals in caged, it is an inhuman activity
because they would not able to get fresh air and chase other animals. As caged places is small
so there is possibility to damage animal body parts and sometimes can even die. For example,”
Recently BBC news reported that two animals were died in national zoos in India because there
did not have available space that was necessary for lions.”
On the other hand, although it is a ruthless act of keeping the animals in a zoo, scientists need
to test new drugs due to see the impact. As a result, researchers may able to invent new drugs
which safe human life. In addition, some of the animals are becoming extinct so humans
responsibility to protect them. For example, the name of animal “Panda” is almost vanished but
some of them, we can see in zoos so children may gain more knowledge to go to zoos instead
of academic texts or books.
In conclusion, keeping animals in zoos might have many values but it is irrational to keep them
away from their natural habitat. As animals have same emotions and rights to live
independently like human so wildlife is better for them.
