Economics-Georgia Milestones (EOC)
The Economics Course is a 1 semester course that requires

The Georgia Milestones (EOC) for Economics is a statewide

assessment that is administered at or near end of the
Economics course. This assessment is typically administered
to 12th grades either in the Fall or Spring Semester.

Data Questions and Points of Emphasis
1. How does the data compare to our School
Improvement Plan for GA Milestone
Performance in Economics?
2. What are we doing well in our instruction? What
can we improve on in instruction?
Data Questions and Points of Emphasis #1
SIP Goal #1 - By Spring 2021, 65% of JCCHS students' assessments will score at Proficient or
Distinguished Learner on Georgia Milestones EOCs.

● JCCHS is on track to maintain 70% of their 12th graders testing on Economics GA Milestones at or above
proficient. 2018-2019 data currently unavailable.
● Comparably JCCHS performs better than the other District HS, but data indicates a slight closing of the
gap between the two schools in the ECON GA Milestones.
● The JCCHS Economic Course Team should action plan to close the gap of achievement for subgroups to
increase the number proficient learners.

SIP Goal #2 - By Spring 2021, 95% of students in grades 9-12 will be absent less than 10% of enrolled day.

● JCCHS Attendance data indicates upward trend as student population grows.

● JCCHS Administration should continue to monitor Attendance Action Plan and make adjustments as
necessary. Possible PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) for increasing attendance should
be reviewed. Improved Attendance will have a positive impact on student achievement and school climate.
Data Questions and Points of Emphasis #2
Economic Course Team Instructional Strengths

● Standards Based Formal Assessments

● Frequent Informal Student Assessments
● GA Milestone Test Preparation and performance is significantly higher than the State Average and
considerably higher than the other District HS.

Economic Course Team Instructional Weaknesses

● Improved differentiated and tiered learning to meet the needs of JCCHS Subgroups (SWDs &
ELLs) and struggling ethnicities.
● Analyze Formal Assessment data to remediate Students With Disabilities and other struggling
subgroups. Remediation could move more subgroup students to the Proficient Category on
Economics GA Milestones.
Where Do We Go Next?
○ Analyze and Discuss presented Data in Course Team
collaboration.
○ Data share formative assessments
○ Drill down subgroup data and standard strains to
identify areas of weaknesses for those students
○ Openly communicate instructional successes, ideas
and concerns within course and across content
