Product Performance Detailed Assessment Checklists

Introduction:
For the Aerospace Industry, the IAQG Supplier Selection Capability Assessment Model -
SSCAM (see SCMH Section 4.1) serves as guidance, intended to assess the maturity of a
company to achieve and sustain customer expectations especially on time and on quality
deliveries. It can serve to select a supplier and/or assess its capability in the main domains
impacting supply chain performance.
The Product Performance Detailed Assessment Checklists are complementary to the
SSCAM and intend to:
 Provide any assessor using capability model with detailed questions related to each
process in order to enable and support the dialog between:
o Either assessed organizations and customers or third party assessors,
o Either assessed entities and internal assessors within an organization.
 Identify more precisely, weaknesses and risks regarding product performances
 Assess gaps and overlaps between the different processes throughout the product
life-cycle (design, production, customer support, etc.)
 Help to elaborate directly actions allowing to set up improvement initiatives that may
come out from capability assessments and use of this detailed questionnaires
These checklists are consistent with:
 Aerospace Requirements :Quality Management Systems AS/EN/JSQ 9100,
 Associated requirements and/or Recommended Practices: Standards such as
AS/EN/JISQ 91XX (Ex: 9103, 9134, etc.),
 Aerospace industry experience represented by best practices IAQG member
companies brought in when setting up these checklists.

About 800 assessed items (questions) have been developed and sorted into 50 topics and
the 11 standards processes. They serve as support for the detailed evaluation of some of the
SSCAM 11 process areas.
Raising all the 800 assessed items leads to long assessment efforts and/or durations (up to
10 days*person) which might exceed allowed time. Thus it is recommended to select the
questions relevant to some processes selected as subject of detailed assessment.

Instructions for Use:

The material provided in this chapter consists of the following:
 User guide – describing the background for the checklists development and use, as
well as instructions for the sorting out of a specific required checklist from the Excel
data-bank.
 Data-bank (library) of checklists organized in an Excel file, filterable in accordance
with the 11 SSCAM processes.

Disclaimer:
The intention of this section is to assist organizations in the preparation of a recommended
product performance detailed assessment. It is not intended to be a IAQG requirement. It
could become a requirement according individual organizations decisions.
