Text
It is universally accepted that technology has offered a host of benefits. However,
I guess, the most outstanding one would be the medical discoveries, this
phenomenon has led to. The breakthroughs in the world of medicine, have
helped to increase our life expectancy. Another positive result is the proliferation
of computers and automatic machines. As a result, time devoted to the labor has
diminished substantially.
On the other hand, the troubles technologies have caused are innumerable. The
major one is the mass computerization and automation that have fundamentally
transformed factories which in dire consequence, the workforce being downsized
is witnessed. In addition, malicious viruses, which cause the crash and loss of
irretrievable data would be another detrimental effect of technological advances
that is so costly.
In the near future, we will see a number of dramatic advances because of
technological advances. Initially, scientists would be able to push back the
frontiers of knowledge and develop cures for those diseases we today deem
incurable. What’s more, modern home cinemas and other innovations would
change the way we spend our free time. What’s more, it may sound far fetched
now, but in future, electronic transistor circuits and microprocessors will be able
to perform the way human brain does so robots will develop consciousness and
one day they may turn on their creators.
There are a lot of strong grounds to call internet the most useful innovation of the
modern life. The reasons are, we can easily access to information in any part of
the world or we can send massage to any part of the world just at the touch of
one bottom.
The attitudes toward technological advances between senior citizens and junior
ones are so much different. Generally, the elderlies are technophobes and are
afraid of modern innovations. By contrast, the youth are technophiles and
embrace the leading edge technology. There seasons leading to this myriad of
sharp contrast are not a lot.
The significant one is that, the old people loathe the state of art technologies
because they don’t have the know-how to use the technology to the fullest so
they think they may be laughed at. However, the young people have the tech
savvy and in some cases they may be cyber addict.
Do young people have the same attitudes toward modern technology?
What advantages have advances in technology brought us in the past?
Do you agree that the internet has been the most useful invention of the modern
times?
What troubles have they caused or could cause?
What developments will take place in our lives as the result of technological
achievements?
Can you imagine your life without technology?
