Statement from Marcus Chambers, Okaloosa County Superintendent of Schools

“When Mrs. Jackson was removed from office six months ago, the school district began the process of
moving ahead. I have had confidence in the Governor and his staff from the beginning to handle this
matter keeping the best interests of students as the priority. Today marks the culmination of a
challenging period in our school district, and I have been extremely proud of the performance of our
students, teachers and staff.

Our focus is on providing the very best education we can for our students. We are either moving
forward or moving backwards as a school district. We choose to move forward.”
