Traumatic brain injury (TBI), often referred to as the “silent epidemic,” remains a growing public health

concern and represents the greatest contributor to death and disability globally among all trauma-related
injuries. The proportion of TBIs resulting from road traffic collisions was greatest in Africa and Southeast
Asia (both 56%) and lowest in North America (25%). As the primary injury cannot be undone,
management strategies must therefore focus on preventing secondary injury by avoiding hypotension and
hypoxia and maintaining appropriate cerebral perfusion pressure (CPP), which is a surrogate for cerebral
blood flow (CBF). How to handle traumatic brain injury (TBI) in primary health care? what can we do so
the patient's condition doesn't worse? find the answer at the symposium ARTERIES.
