ECC := If you are using in custom field in the material

master data and you don’t to transfer it to EWM , then you
have to activate BADI in SPRO
SPRO -> Integration with other SAP Comp - > EWM -> Basic
Setting for data transfer - > Enhancement for material
Selection - > Activate This BADI.

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Example : some data come from ECC or any System , you

need to activate the below and add system name
EWM := SPRO - > SCM Extended Warehouse Number - >
SCM Basis - > Integration - > Basic Setting for creating
system landscape - > Activated Incremental Data Transfer

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

EWM := Business System Group .

EWM Can Connect To SAP ERP And Non-SAP , So Using

Business System Group We Tell The System What Is SAP
Connect And What is Not System Connection.

So , we create Business System Group For Each System

And Connect It To Logical system.

EWM Logical System := SPRO - > SCM Extended

Warehouse Number - > SCM Basis - > Integration - > Basic
Setting for creating system landscape - > Name Logical
System.

EWM Business System Group := SPRO - > SCM Extended

Warehouse Number - > SCM Basis - > Integration - > Basic

What if (Plant + Shipping Point) Is The Same Name In ECC
Systems That Connected To EWM (ECC1 , ECC2) , Here We
Should To Activate Some BADI in EWM To Let EWM

1-Define WH Process Type :

EWM - > SPRO - > SCM Extended Warehouse Number - >
Extended WM - > Cross-Process Setting - > WH Task - >
Define WH Process Type (Use Putaway And Putaway with
Storage Process).
This will be used in step 5.

A Warehouse process type is used to define the activity or

movement of each process in a warehouse. It deals with
each warehouse process like packing, good receipt, good
issue and is assigned to each warehouse task document.
Example
For simple movements, warehouse process type defines
the storage type and bin for the movement of goods.
Warehouse process type is defined at the point of creation
of the warehouse document or in separate step.
All warehouse process types are further grouped into
warehouse process categories. Warehouse process
categories are used to define the goods movement in a
warehouse.

There are different warehouse process categories that are

predefined in the EWM system −
• Stock Removal
• Put-away
• Internal Movement
• Goods receipt posting
• Goods issue posting
• Physical inventory
• Cross Line putaway

2-PO & IBD := ECC - > Create PO - > Create IBD - >

EWM IBD Is Created Automatically Through PPF Action.

This Process Start After Creating Inbound Delivery On SAP
ECC , Which To Save Actual Delivery On EWM.

1 - Good Receipt IBD On EWM :

- EWM - > Easy Access - > Delivery Processing - > Inbound
Delivery - > Maintain IBD Notification - > Click On Good
Receipt Button.

Reversals - Good Receipt IBD On EWM :

- EWM - > Easy Access - > Delivery Processing - > Inbound

find your defined Distribution Model )- > BABI ( 1- Save
REPLICA , 2 - Delivery CHANGE)
Adjust - Qty IBD On EWM : ( Partial Delivery Or Adjust
Qty Or Reject IBD )
- EWM - > Easy Access - > Delivery Processing - > Inbound
Delivery - > Maintain IBD Notification - > Get Your IBD - >
Process Code - > With Qty Adjustment ( it can be - or + ).
- this is to edit IBD Qty .
- the options list here either it will adjust same IBD or
create new IBD in EWM And ECC Also with the new qty.
- Process Codes := EWM - > SPRO - > SCM Extended
Warehouse Number - > Extended WM -> Cross-Process
Settings - > Delivery Warehouse Request -> Process Codes
- > Define Process Codes .

How EWM Send New IBD On ECC After Adjusting Qty Or

Process Some IBD Modification On EWM :
- EWM - > SPRO - > SCM Extended Warehouse Number - >
Extended WM -> Cross-Process Settings - > Delivery
Warehouse Request -> Process Codes - > Define Process
Codes .
- EWM - > SPRO - > SCM Extended Warehouse Number - >

Processing - > Define Number Ranges For ERP Document.
- ECC - > SPRO -> Logistics Execution -> Shipping - >
Deliveries -> Define Delivery Type - > Search for EL - >
Double Click And Check “Number Systems Tab” and NR Int.
assgt .

EWM Stock Type : (When We Do GR For IBD That Linked

To WH Process Type Which Contain Availability Group
Which Contain Stock Type , The System Will Go GR For
This Stock Type In ECC.)
- EWM - > SPRO - > SCM Extended Warehouse Number - >
Extended WM -> Goods Receipt Process - > Configure

EWM Link EWM + Availability Group With ECC Plant +
SLOC + Logical System:
- EWM - > SPRO - > SCM Extended Warehouse Number - >
Extended WM -> Interfaces > ERP Integration -> Goods
Movements - > Map SLOC From ERP System To EWM. .

EWM After Good Receipt:

After Perform Good receipt On IBD Notification , You
Should Create Warehouse Task And Assign It To
Warehouse Order And Then Assign Warehouse Order To
Resource To Complete Actions.
EWM IBD Work As Warehouse Request To Create
Warehouse Tasks.
Warehouse Task := Defines The Activity Between Source
And Destination
Warehouse Order := Its Execution Of The Warehouse
Tasks (List Of Warehouse Tasks)
Example : I Have 3 Product Will Go To The Same Bin ,all
this Warehouse tasks will be grouped in one warehouse
Order to be executed.
Or
Moving Items From Staging-BIN To Final-BIN.

2- EWM Perform Put away After Good Receipt:

1 - in The Same T-code “EWM Maintain IBD” - > Select Line
- > Menu “Inbound Delivery” - > Follow-On-Functions - >
Warehouse Task.
2 - “If No Put Away Strategy Exist” Go To Default Values
Tab - > In “Dest.Storage.Bin” Enter Storage Tye & Storage-
Bin - > Confirm - > Confirm & Save - > Warehouse Order
xxxx Created .
Or
2 - “If Put Away Strategy Exist” in the Work Request Tab -
> Choose Your Line - > Click Create - > System Will
Purpose Des.Bin Based On Put-away Strategy -> Create &
Save - > Warehouse Order xxxx Created .
3 - “Warehouse Task Menu” - > Confirm Or Confirm & Save

Warehouse Monitor :
EWM - > Easy Access - > EWM - > Monitoring - > Warehouse
Management Monitor ( Choose WH & Monitor )
Usage:
1-Reporting Tool.
2-List Of Warehouse Orders.
3-List Of Warehouse Tasks.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// EWM

How Do The System Determine which Storage Bin To Store
?
Why we store this item in this Storage Bin ? Maybe based
on item type (cold , hot)

1- Put Away Strategy : (Storage Type Level

Searching) Storage Type Determination

1 - Storage Type Level Searching .

2 - Storage Section Level Searching .
3 - Storage Bin Level Searching .

Example:
If I have one storage type “Food” With Storage Sections
“FORZEN” , ”Oven” , ”Normal”
And inside “Frozen” I have Bin (Plastic , Liquid).

When I receive Packed Milk I Should receive in “Food” - >

“FROZEN” -> “Plastic”.

Configuration:
1 - Create Storage Type Search Sequence:
- EWM - > SPRO - > SCM Extended Warehouse Number - >
Extended WM -> Goods Receipt Process - > Strategies ->
Storage Type Search -> Define Storage Type Search
Sequence for put-away -> new entry to create search
sequence (EWM Warehouse Number + SEQ1) := SEQ1.

2 - Assign Storage Type To Storage Type Search

Sequence:
Here we assign Storage Types to The Sequence Created In
Step1.
- EWM - > SPRO - > SCM Extended Warehouse Number - >
Extended WM -> Goods Receipt Process - > Strategies ->
Storage Type Search -> Assign Storage Type To Storage
Type Search Sequence .
- Create New Entry - > (WHN + SEQ1) + Storage Type
“Food” : = 1 inside SEQ1
- Create New Entry - > (WHN + SEQ1) + Storage Type “Non-
Food” = 2 inside SEQ1
This means that system will try to store our product first
in “Food” if not then will try to store it in “Non-Food”

3 - Define Putaway Control Indicator:

Now How To get This Sequence Against Out Product.
- EWM - > SPRO - > SCM Extended Warehouse Number - >
Extended WM -> Goods Receipt Process - > Strategies ->
Storage Type Search -> Define Putaway Control Indicator.
- Create New Entry (WHN + PACI01) + SEQ1 := PACI01 .

Note :
Where We Assign This Putaway Control Indicator “PACI01” ,
Its In Product Master Data.

4 - Assign Putaway Control Indicator To Product Master:

EWM - > /n/SCWM/MAT1 - > Choose Your Material - >
Change - > Tab “Warehouse Data” - > in “Putaway Control
Indicator” - > Enter PACI01 .
5 - Assign Putaway Control Indicator To Warehouse
Process Type:
- EWM - > SPRO - > SCM Extended Warehouse Number - >
Extended WM -> Goods Receipt Process - > Strategies ->
Storage Type Search -> Specify Storage Type Search
Sequence for Putaway.
- Create New Entry ( WHN + PACI01 + WH Process Type +
SEQ1 + Putaway Rules “No Putaway Rule” ).

What is Put-away Rule ?

2 - Addition To Existing Stock / Empty Bin := this will fill
Purposed Bin then move the remain Bin qty to the next
Bin.
3 - Consolidation Group.
4 - General Storage Area.
5 - Empty Bin := Purposing Next Empty Bin
6 - Transit Warehouse : Staging Area for Door.

6 - Optimize Access Strategy For Storage Type Search:

Put-away:
- EWM - > SPRO - > SCM Extended Warehouse Number - >
Extended WM -> Goods Receipt Process - > Strategies ->
Storage Type Search -> Optimize Access Strategy For
Storage Type Search: Put-away.
- Create New Entry ( WHN + new Seq.No 1 ) and Check
Put.Start & ProcType

7 - Assign Storage Bins To Activity Areas:

- EWM - > SPRO - > SCM Extended Warehouse Number - >
Extended WM -> Master Data - > Activity Areas - > Assign
Storage Bins To Activity Areas.

8 - Define Sort Sequence for Activity Area:

What is the sort inside the activity area
- EWM - > SPRO - > SCM Extended Warehouse Number - >
Extended WM -> Master Data - > Activity Areas - > Define
Sort Sequence for Activity Area.

9 - Sorting Storage Bins:

EWM - > /SCWM/SBST - Sort Storage Bins - > Choose WHN -
> execute -> when list displayed - > click on execute to
sort all the bins inside your Warehouse.

2- Put Away Strategy : (Storage Section Level

Searching) Storage Section Determination
How It Works :
Under Storage Type Level - > Under Put-away control
area - > there is checkbox “Storage Section Check”

1 - Create Storage Section Indicator:

- EWM - > SPRO - > SCM Extended Warehouse Number - >
Extended WM -> Goods Receipt Process - > Strategies ->
Storage Section Search -> Create Storage Section
Indicator - >
—— > Our Defined Section ( BEAR , CABLE ) / ( BULB ,
FUSE ) / ( BULK ) —— <
- new entry ( WHN + Defined Storage Section BEAR +
Description ) := Storage_Section_Ind1
- new entry ( WHN + Defined Storage Section CABLE +
Description ) := Storage_Section_Ind1
- new entry ( WHN + Defined Storage Section BULB +
Description ) := Storage_Section_Ind1

2 - Maintain Storage Section Search Sequence: ( i nside

Each Section Indicator We Can Access Multiple Section )
- EWM - > SPRO - > SCM Extended Warehouse Number - >
Extended WM -> Goods Receipt Process - > Strategies ->
Storage Section Search ->
Maintain Storage Section Search Sequence - > .
- new entry ( WHN + Defined Storage Type Engine +
Defined Storage Section Indicator Storage_Section_Ind1 )
+ Any Defined Storage Section BEAR .
- new entry ( WHN + Defined Storage Type Engine +
Defined Storage Section Indicator Storage_Section_Ind1 )
+ Any Defined Storage Section CABLE .

Example :
Section Ind FROZEN1 := ( Section 1 , Section 2 )
Section Ind FROZEN2 := ( Section 3 , Section 4 )
Section Ind FROZEN3 := ( Section 5 , Section 6 )
Section Ind FROZEN4 := ( Section 7 , Section 8 )

3 - Storage Section Check : Mandatory Step To Activate

Storage Section Search
- EWM - > SPRO - > SCM Extended Warehouse Number - >
Extended WM -> Goods Receipt Process - > Strategies ->
Storage Section Search ->
Storage Section Check - >
- Using entry ( WHN + Defined Storage Type Engine +
Choose One Option (1-Storage Section Determination And
Check , 2-Storage Section Determination No Check).

4 - Assign Storage Section Indicator To Product Master:

EWM - > /n/SCWM/MAT1 - > Choose Your Material - >
Change - > Tab “Warehouse Data” - > in “Storage Section
Ind” - > “Write The Section That You Need To Check It
During Put-away” .

3- Put Away Strategy : (Storage Bin Level

Searching) Storage Bin Determination

1 - Define Storage Bin Types:

- EWM - > SPRO - > SCM Extended Warehouse Number - >
Extended WM -> Goods Receipt Process - > Strategies ->
Storage Bin Determination -> Define Storage Bin Types - >
- new entry ( WHN + New Storage Bin Type Name BIN1 +
Bin Type Description + Max Weight + Max Volume + Max
Capacity + Length + Width ) .
- new entry ( WHN + New Storage Bin Type Name BIN2 +
Bin Type Description + Max Weight + Max Volume + Max
Capacity + Length + Width ) .

2 - Assign Bin Type To Storage Bins :

EWM - > /n/SCWM/LS03 .

3 - Assign Bin Type to Product Master :

EWM - > /n/SCWM/MAT1 - > Choose Your Material - >
Change - > Tab “Warehouse Data” - > in “Storage Bin Type” -

What is the difference between

physical stock and available stock
in EWM?
A. Physical stock is what we store in the
warehouse, available stock means that part
which is available for sales.
B. If the physical stock and the available
stock are different I need to do an inventory
correction.
C. Physical stock is what is physically
located on the bin, the available stock shows
what is available for movements, takings
open putaway or picking warehouse tasks
into account.
