Method Statement for structural crack sealing with HILTI

CI 060 and CC 412-1
Surface Preparation
• Clean the crack line with wire brush and compressed air to free from dust or any
other impurities.
• Mark the non-return valve (packer) points on the crack line as per spacing given
below

• Close the crack line with CC 412-1 crack sealing compound 40mm wide and
2mm thick by leaving packer points ( Follow the instructions given by the
supplier for mixing of CC412-1)
• Fix the packers on points with same crack sealing compound
• Keep the system for 4 hrs to cure

Testing of crack line for any leakage

• Pure water to be injected to the line with the use of empty tube of CI 060 to check
any leakage from packers and sealing line.
• If found any leakage, it has to be repaired with same CC 412- 1 sealing compound
and keep to cure
• If necessary the line to be checked again
• Water to be removed from the line and keep for minimum 2 hrs to dry before
chemical injection
Chemical Injection
• Insert CI 060 chemical tubes in a vessel with ice cubes to bring down the
temperature to increase the pot life time of chemical.
 • Tap the CI 060 injection cartridge lightly on the rear side with a hammer. The
glass cylinder breaks and releases the hardener. Mix by see-saw motion for app.
20 motions – Do not shake.
• Insert the cartridge to the dispenser and remove the seal of cartridge and connect
the hose provided.
• Hose to be connected to the packer (bottom most packer) with the cap nut
provided.
• Insert the air relief stopper into the next packer above.
• Inject the CI 060 resin until it appears visibly in the next packer above.
• Then detach the connection hose from the packer and plug it to next higher
packer. Repeat this sequence up to the end of the crack.
• System has to be kept for 7 days for full curing but after 24 hrs, packers can be
removed and surface can be ground to get smooth surface.

Proof for chemical penetration

• At least 82mm dia. core sample has to be taken initially to find out the crack
depth and similar sample has to be taken after 2 days to find the chemical
penetration.

can be done at your site as per your instructions but necessary scaffolding, working
