WORKSHOP ON APPLICATION OF MATHEMATICS

Mathematics is the language of science. The uses of Mathematics are immense and its applications are not only confined to sciences; it is used
in many fields like economics, psychology, sports, arts, management, marketing etc. But do our students know about this?

Most of the students do not know the uses and these applications, for many, Mathematics is a subject that they want to avoid. This is because,
these applications are not discussed in their syllabus. Students learn more of concepts by doing problems which is based on procedures,
techniques, formulas and Mathematics is not only about problem solving.

As teachers it is our responsibility to teach students the importance and applications of Mathematics, for this reason we propose a summer
workshop for the high school students on ‘Applications of Mathematics’.

The main purpose of this workshop is:

1. To make students understand the application of Mathematics.

2. Help students to inculcate a ‘research mindset’.
3. Give students the time to ‘struggle with their doubt’.

Eligibility : Std 7th and 8th students.

Camp duration : 2/4/2018 to 17/04/2018 (Monday to Saturday)
Timing : 8.30 am to 12.30 pm.
Camp Fee : ` 1,500/-
