Duration: 1 hour
I. Objectives:
At the end of this period the students should be able to:
1. Define and identify the set of integers.
2. Add and illustrate integers using number line.
3. Observe neatness among one’s work.
A. Preparatory Activities
1. Prayer One student will lead the prayer.
2. Greetings
Good morning class.
Good morning Ma’am Jas.
3. Checking of attendance
In-charge student for every column will report who is absent.
4. Checking of assignment
Do you have an assignment class? Yes ma’am
Pass your assignment forward and do not
stand.
5. Drill
Show flashcards of set or collection of
objects to the students by column and let
them find the one that is out of the group.
First column Kalesa
1. Boat, kalesa, car, bus, airplane
Very Good!
Second column 11
2. 2, 11,4,6,8,10
Very Good!
Cartolina
Altogether
3. Red, Blue, Pink,Cartolina,White
Very Good!

B. Development of the Lesson
Definition of terms:
1. Set of integers
- Consist of all positive whole numbers,
all negative whole numbers, and zero.
2. Positive integers
- Integers that is greater than zero.
3. Negative Integers
- Integers that are less than zero.

Guide Questions:
1. What operations are used? 1. Addition.
2. What have you notice on the numbers? 2. There is positive and negative sign.
3. It is below zero.
3. If a number has a negative sign, what does it
It is above zero.
imply? If a number has no sign, that is a
positive number. What does it mean?
4. We used number line to get the answer.
4. How will you derive with your answers?
Now base on your activity, how will you define Integer is a positive and negative whole number or its exact
integer? opposites.
So these Integers can be applied on operations. We simply add an integer by using number line. ou have to
move along to the right side in adding positive integers, and
move along to the left sight in adding a negative integer.
How do you add an integer?
For examples:
a. (-5)+(-4) a. -9
b. (-8)+5 b. -4
IV. Generalization:
1. What are the things to remember on 1. Positive numbers are always on the right side, the negative

2. By using the number line, you have to move along to the

V. Evaluation:

1. 10+(-3)= 1. 7
2. 5+(-4)= 2. 1
3. -6+(-2)= 3. -8
4. (-7)+7= 4. 0
5. (-3)+(-6) 5. -9
VI. Assignment: ½ cw paper
Add the following integers.
1. 21+(-5)=
2. 5+(-8)=
3. -11+(-7)=
4. (-10)+10=
5. (-4)+(-7)+3=
