The auditioned choirs at Horn Lake Middle School are available for

7th and 8th grade students.

Members will perform sacred, classical, pop,
jazz, and language pieces. The advanced choir
will perform approximately 6-8 times during the
school year including concerts and choir festivals.
The inter mediate choir will perfor m
approximately 4 times during the school year.
This group is designed to help improve vocal
development, music reading abilities, and
prepare for choir at the high school level.
The cost listed below covers festival registration costs,
transportation to/from festivals, accompanist costs, etc...
The choir members may also have the option to participate in an overnight trip to in the
Spring (additional cost). Choir members will have an opportunity to participate in fundraisers to
help reduce expenses.

Projected choir expenses for ADVANCED CHOIR- $80.00 (performance attire not included in expenses)
Projected choir expenses for INTERMEDIATE CHOIR - $70.00

A U D I T I O N S FOR THE 2018-2019 Choirs

Please review carefully.

Choir members who ARE enrolled in choir this year

will audition during choir class April 16 - May 1.

Anyone who is NOT enrolled in choir class THIS year

will have the opportunity to audition after school on May 1 at the middle school choir room
OR April 26 at the high school choir room. If you have a scheduling conflict, see Ms. Beck during

You will need to have this completed form on hand to audition!

Auditions - The student will:

๏ sing vocal exercises that are lead by the directors
๏ sing “Happy Birthday”
๏ sing a sight singing exercise - those auditioning for the advanced choir only
๏ have a brief interview with the director

Choir letters will be mailed at the end of the school year. These letters will
notify students if they have been placed in choir. If placed, also enclosed will
be important items like a calendar and payment dates.

WHEN YOU AUDITION. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
