Series N170-M2 are provided in sizes 3 4" through 2" (20-50mm) with threaded connections (size 2"-50mm has 11 2"-40mm cold connection). Temperature range from 130F to 180F (55-82C).* For proper operation, do not exceed 210F (99C). Max. pressure 150 psi (10.55 bars). Series N170L-M2 are identical to the above except they are furnished with a special low temperature range thermostat for car wash and other such applications. Temperature range 100F to 130F (38-55C). Features All bronze body construction with stainless steel disc Solid wall hydraulic principle thermostat assures dependable mixing of hot and cold water Thermostat controls both hot and cold water New static adjustment screw seal Specifications A Watts No. N170-M2 shall be installed on heating equipment to provide tempered water. Valve shall have bronze body and operate so that the thermostat controls the cold water port. Watts Regulator Company Series N170-M2.
WARNING Watts Hot Water Temperature Control Valves cannot be used for tempering water temperature at fixtures. Severe bodily injury (i.e., scalding or chilling) and/or death may result depending upon system water pressure changes. ASSE standard 1016 listed devices such as Watts Model L111 or MMV should be used at fixtures to prevent possible injury. The Watts Hot Water Temperature Control Valves are designed to be installed at or near the boiler or hot water heater. They are not designed to compensate for system pressure fluctuations and should not be used where ASSE 1016 devices are required. These WATTS valves should never be used to provide "anti-scald" or "anti-chill" service. When installing the Series 1170 valves in a radiant heat application, the components of the radiant heat system must be of materials with a construction capable of withstanding the high limit output temperatures of the heating boiler. If you are uncertain as to the product's adaptability for your application, please consult an authorized representative before installing or using the product.
Watts product specifications in U.S. customary units and metric are approximate and are provided for reference only. For precise measurements, please contact Watts Technical Service. CAUTION: NEED FOR PERIODIC INSPECTION Periodic inspection by a licensed contractor is recommended. Corrosive water conditions, temperatures over 210F (99C), unauthorized adjustments or repair could render the valve ineffective for service intended. Regular checking and cleaning of thermostat assembly helps to assure maximum life and proper product function. Frequency of cleaning depends upon local water conditions. *See Warning on reverse side.
