ENABLING TASK 1: POEM IN TEN LINES
MECHANICS AND GUIDELINES This task is an individual submission and will be given subjects for the learners to choose from. Instead of electing to write on a high-minded subject, the poet must stay close to his/her experience as basis for ET 1: Poem. It may be an object or a word. It must spark meaning to them before they would even begin. The teacher may have the option to let them grab something from their backpacks and grab the thing that best describes them NOW. The following requirements must be followed:
Required Elements of Poetry: Imagery, Metaphor, Contradiction/Insight
No limit of stanzas but is limited to only 10 lines, 5 words minimum per line Style: Free verse; Rhyme can be used, but isn’t a requirement Language: English / Filipino. No English translations needed for poems in Filipino. Formatting: o Paper: 8 ½ x 11 inches (Short) o Font: Calibri / Times New Roman o Font Size: 11 o Spacing: Single o Margins: 1 inch on all sides o Type of copy: Soft copy (no name within file; hard copy if late submission (with name and section on top right of the paper) o Title of the poem: must be aligned left, in bold format, and with the same size as the poem body o File name: Class number, followed by complete name (i. e. 1 Anghag, Sidney Christianne E., or 1 Sidney Christianne E. Anghag) o File type: .doc or .docx; no PDF submissions allowed All submissions must be collated in a class CD (with assigned point person). No email/USB submissions allowed.
