At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

A. identify correctly the food groups and amount of each food that should
intake daily through making a record of daily meal.
B. explain comprehensively the importance of having a proper daily
servings in life through oral recitation.

e. Review
Last meeting you have already
discussed about the Digestive system
specifically the journey of food in our
digestive system and the nutrients that
circulate during the process of digestion.
Again, food start with mouth then it goes
to esophagus through peristalsis, then to
the stomach to the small intestine to the
large intestine, to the rectum and it goes
out through anus.
The nutrients that can be obtain from
food and being process to the digestive
system are carbohydrates, proteins and
fats. They will process in digestive
system to be distribute in the different
parts of our body.
f. Motivation

How many glasses of softdrinks do you


need to full the 1 L bottle of coke?
Yes Jessa? I think 4-5 glasses of softdrinks ma’am.
Very good! Another is that if you want to
make a coffee, how many spoons of
sugar do you need to have a good taste
of coffee? Yes, Dave?
I think 1 spoon only ma’am.
Why do you say so Dave?
Because the coffee will be so too much
sweet if it is 2 spoons and bitter if it is ½
spoon only ma’am
Very good. Just like in food, there is an
equivalent proper amount of each food
that we need to follow to obtain the
nutrients that our body needs and for us
to have healthy body. That would be our
lesson for today, DAILY SERVINGS.
Before we have a further discussion
about our lesson, let us first read our
objectives for us to be guided.

At the end of the lesson, the students should

2. Activity/Discussion
Before we proceed to our proper
discussion, let us have first an activity.
This is an individual activity. I have hear
bond papers. Each of you, I want you to
make your own daily meal. In your daily
meal, I want you to write the date, the
meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner,
Snacks) and the food under each meal,
and the amount of each food.
I will give you 5 minutes to do the task.

3. Analysis

In providing energy, our diet must also


supply the raw materials needed for
building complex molecules the body
needs to grow, maintain itself, and
reproduce.
In this lesson, we will identify the
nutritional requirements of our body
every day. Now let us see if you
identified correctly the proper amounts of
the different food that you intake daily.
Let us check your daily meal journal if
you obtain the exact amounts of food
you are eating daily.

Yes, Nilo? is 5-6 teaspoons and Fish, shellfish, meat &
poultry, dried beans and nuts is 2 and ½
servings, water is 6-8 glasses everyday
ma’am.

6-8 servings, fruits is 3 servings ma’am and

Why do we need to follow the proper


amount of food/daily servings that we
consume everyday?
