Base on basic design PV Shipyard (hereinafter called “BUILDER”) shall develop


and perform the detailed engineering to obtain Class approval and perform
modelling, construction engineering and shop drawing.

PROCEDURE

3.1 RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibility of chart personnel.

All documents of this procedure will be prepared by Project Engineering Team


under controlling of Engineering Manager to ensure that all the technical
requirements in accordance with the VSP’s requirements.

Engineering Manager

Engineering Manager is responsible to review, comment and approve all


technical documents issued by PEMT. He is also responsible for establish and
developing the Engineering Plan Progress Schedule (EPPS) and control all
engineering document delivery with quality and following schedule.

Discipline Engineer

Discipline Engineer is responsible report to the Engineering Manager for the


timely production of their discipline drawings. He shall be responsible for the
accuracy and completeness of the drawing incorporating all comments and he
will be also responsible for preparation of other technical documents.

Draftsman

Draftsman is responsible for drafting the discipline drawings. He ensures that


all drawings are drafted in accordance with the given information.

Engineering Document Controller

Document Controller will arrange to issue copies of the relevant documents to


recipients in line with pre-determined distribution matrix. He will record any
subsequent issues of the design information and ensure that the relevant parties
are copied with the updated documents, he will be also responsible for the
storage of original IFA, IFC drawings and issue of these to the appropriate
construction shops and departments as well as ensuring copies for comment are
distributed to clients certifying authorities and the like as necessary.

3.2 DOCUMENT PROCEDURE

3.2.1 Unit and Software

 All the preparation of work will be in US unit.

 The rig shall be modelled all hull structural, piping, outfitting..ect by


SM3D program.

 The Clasher facility checks any designated section against the model to
detect clash areas by using SM3D program.

 Arrangement drawing shall be generated from SM3D

 Piping ISO and spool drawing shall be generated from SM3D for
fabrication.

 The hull structural shop and fabrication drawings will be prepared by


using AUTOCAD 2007.

 Mathcad for calculation sheet


 Other documents will prepared by using Microsoft Word & Excel 2004.

3.2.2 Document presentation

Size of documents shall be as follow:

 Drawings: A0, A1, A2, A3 and A4.


 Other documents: A4.

Revised document shall be reissued in its full content. The modified areas shall
be identified as follows:

 Drawings: By a triangle holding the revision index plus a “cloud”


surrounding the revised area.
 Other documents: A triangle holding the revision index shall be drawn in
the left margin of the document in front of the revised line or paragraph.
 Precedent revision indications shall be removed.

Engineering documents shall be issued with status clearly indicated as follows:

 Issued for Approval.


 Issued for Construction.

A document control sheet shall accompany each document submitted, the


control sheet shall show the name of originator, issue date, document number

and revision number. Prior to distribution, the following shall sign off each
document:

 Author or originator who prepared the document


 Engineer of each discipline who checked the document.
 Engineering Manager who approved the document

Document other than drawings

For documents other than drawings, a sequential number, starting with 0001
shall be used.

3.2.4 Documents check, review and approval

A draft copy of each document to be issued shall be forwarded to the Engineer


of each discipline for checking and review and comment.

The document after review and checking by Leader Engineering will be


handed to Engineering Manager for final review and approval.

The IFA drawing after approval by EM shall be forward to VSP/ABS for


review/ comment and approval

The IFC drawings shall be reviewed against the source engineering drawing,
relevant specification/ codes and construction requirements.

3.2.5 Basic design

A Basic design register will be established and maintained on PVMS’s Project


Information Management System in computer system for each discipline.

3.2.6 Detailed engineering

Detailed Engineering is carried out by Project Engineering Team. All detailed


engineering documents will be forwarded to the VSP review and comment in
accordance with the schedule before forward to Class approval.

3.2.6.1 Document deliverable (IFC drawings)

PVMS’s Project engineering team is responsible for generation the detailed


engineering drawings/ documents.

3.2.7 Construction engineering


Base on Basic design and detailed engineering documents project engineering
team shall perform construction engineering and shop drawings following:
- Block breakdown
- Construction sequence
- Erection sequence
- Lifting calculation
- Load-out method and calculation
- Weight control report
- Test/ trial and other construction procedure

3.2.8 Shop drawing


Fabrication shop drawings are produced to supplement the IFC drawing. The
supplementary information shown will include as a minimum:
 Development IFC drawings divide into Block drawings.

 Additional dimensions.
 Additional section views.
 Piece mark number.
 Joint details where required.
 Offset values and other geometry information.
 Location of girth or long seam welds in tubular
 Pipe cut length.
 Beam cut length.
 Nesting plan for beam section, pipe, plates.
 Weld maps.
Shop drawing may take the form of plate, stiff, beam cutting sheets, brace cutting
drawings, long and girth weld orientation drawings, piping isometrics, pipe
supports, electrical & instrument supports, Equipment support details…

3.2.8.1 Structural shop drawings.

The shop drawing will be developed from AFC drawing, to identify the name of
structural member in each layout drawing. These will be used as drawings for
completion of installation of the structure.

The shop drawing of Block (BLK) number will be defined as below:

The pipeline number shall be defined as below:

3.2.8.3 Shop E&I drawings

From the IFC of E & I drawings and support typical drawings, the Engineering
team shall develop E & I shop drawings for construction, which shall include as
minimum:

 Tray & Ladder Support layout drawings.

 Cutting sheet of Tray & Ladder support details.

 E&I Equipment support drawings.

3.2.9 AS-BUILT DRAWINGS.

“AS-BUILT” drawings are based on mark-ups from actual site fabrication &
installation

“AS-BUILT” drawings shall be produced by Drafting team, reviewed/check by


leader discipline Engineer, approval by Engineering Manager and shall form a

part of final documentation to be submitted to VSP. Refer flow chart Figure No.
5 for the “AS-BUILT” drawings controls flow chart.

All approved “AS-BUILT” drawings shall be revision Z: As Built

After the drawings are approved by VSP the drawings will be issued as “AS-
BUILT” for final documentation. Drawings not approved will go through
revision and approval cycle again until the drawing is finally approved by VSP.

3.3 DOCUMENT DISTRIBUTION

The IFA drawing after approval by Engineering Manager shall be forwarded to


VSP/ABS for review/ comment/ approval.

The IFC drawing after approval by Engineering Manager shall forward the
original copy of the IFC, shop and fabrication drawings to the Document Control
office for registration and distribution.

Drawings issued for construction must be stamped as “ISSUE FOR


CONSTRUCTION”

The original copy of the IFC drawings shall be returned to Document Control
office to be maintained on project file.

The IFC drawing’s review and approval cycle is shown in flowchart figure No. II

Revision numbering systems for Review/Approval Cycle will be developed as


follow:

 Issue for Review/ Approval stage : Rev. A, B, C….


 Subsequence revision to IFC: Rev. 0, 1, 2…
 The previous revision will be marked “SUPERSEDED”.

The Document controller shall receive and distribute the drawing in accordance
with the Document distribution Matrix.

4 RECORDS

A register of issued IFA/IFC and fabrication drawings, spooling drawings,


technical query, and other documents will be maintained by DC.

A record of receipt and issue of approved drawings or other documents will be


maintained on project file in the Document controller office.
