1. 15 DAYS SHORT TERM PRESERVATION TRAINING: -
Fruits and vegetables arrive in market in large volume a very large portion (about 30 to 40%) gets decayed farmers do not get even the cost price of their produce Short term fruit preservation program are being conducted at 77 community fruit preservation centres in the state with an objective of preserving and making tasty preserved food items by scientific methods. A total of 25,229 candidates were imparted training under this scheme during 2015-16.
Objective of the scheme:-
To spread the importance of food processing among general public. To prevent decay of fruits and vegetables by simple techniques To help farmers get fair price of their produce by publicizing the knowledge of food processing. To disseminate knowledge of fruit and vegetable processing subject at student’s level Applicability of the scheme: - Applicable to all districts of the state. Eligibility: - Candidate should be literate Selection procedure: - Selection will be made on first come-first serve basis. Number of trainees: - Per program – 30. Duration of training: - 15 days Training fees: - Rs. 20.00 per candidate. Application procedure: - Interested individuals would apply on the given format (Annexure – 1) and submit it along with relevant documents to the in-charge of district’s Government Community Fruit Preservation and Training Center. Admission related advertisement will be uploaded on the departmental website www.horticulture.up.in. 2. Entrepreneurship Development Training Program (S.C.P. Scheme):- Unemployed youths are to be given training in food processing Encouraged for setting-up industry under this program Applicability: - Entrepreneurship development training program (general) – 31 district Entrepreneurship development training program (S.C.P. scheme) – 17 districts Entrepreneurship development training Entrepreneurship development training program (general) program (S.C.P. scheme) Lucknow, Lakhimpur, Raebareilly, Pilibhit, Sitapur, Badaun, Bulandshahar, Hapur, Shahjahanpur, Meerut, Baghpat, Gautam Saharanpur, Mujaffarnagar, Banda, Buddhnagar, Ghaziabad, Saharanpur, Allahabad, Kanpur Dehat, Auraiya, Rampur, Amroha, Bijnore, Chitrakoot, Farrukhabad, Varanasi, Sonbhadra, Ballia, Hamirpur, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Kanpur, Siddharthnagar, Manipuri, Aligarh. Etawah, Kannauj, Bhadohi, Mau, Gorakhpur, Maharajganj, Basti, Faizabad, Sultanpur, Gonda, Firozabad, Mathura, Hathras.
Eligibility under the scheme: -
The trainee must be of minimum of 18 years of age and have minimum educational qualification of high school pass. Number of trainees: - 30 trainees per program. Duration of training: - 100 days (3 hours per day). Training fees: - Training fees of Rs 300.00 will be charged from each selected trainee. Selection procedure: - After submission of applications, trainees will be selected on merit on the basis of total marks secured in high school examination. Periodical progress: A total of 46 programs were conducted during 2015-16 under this scheme and 1380 trainees were imparted training. 3. Employment generation through Dhaba/ Fast food/ Restaurant training scheme:- With this type of training, interested people can learn to prepare clean and quality food or they may start a dhaba fast food restaurant with little investment. This way people can generate income and earn a livelihood. Area of the scheme: 49 selected districts of the state. Selection procedure: Selection will be made on first come-first serve basis after listing of application forms. Number of trainees: Per program – 30 Duration of training: 14 days (3 hours daily) Training fees: Free Periodical progress: A total of 50 programs were conducted during 2015-16 under this scheme and 1500 candidates were imparted training. 4. Quality control and Hygiene related awareness training plan:- This scheme is to bring Good Hygiene Practices (G.H.P.), Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P.), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (H.A.C.C.P.) and awareness about hygiene, sanitation and cleanliness among skilled and un-skilled people who are working in manufacturing of food products and in dhaba, restaurant and food processing unit. Area of the scheme: All districts of the state. Eligibility criteria: All men and women will be eligible. Selection Process: Concerned Principal/Food Processing Officer/Fruit Preservation Officer would ensure participation of 50 trainees by publicizing the program through popular newspapers/banner/poster etc. Duration of training: Two days (5 hours daily) Training fees: Free Periodical progress: A total of 96 programs were conducted during 2015-16 under this scheme and 4822 candidates were imparted training. 5. National Food Processing Mission:- Objective of mission To promote work by establishment of food processing industries/ improvisation/ modernization. To increase the income of small and marginal farmers by using their raw material at territory level. Capital merging, technical transfer, up gradation etc. to support the upturn in food processing capacity. To develop those who are working as helping groups/ agricultural helping group in food processing sector and to help them in achieving small or big entrepreneurship. To develop the capacity and permanent employment through industrial training and to lessen the difference between need and availability of skilled labors in food processing sector. To improvise the level of food safety and hygiene according to Indian food security standardization authority. To provide the facility of adaptation of standardization of H.A.C.C.P and I.S.O to food processing units. To improvise the capacity of farm gate infrastructure, supply chain, storage and processing. To help in making food processing sector in an organised form. Area of project working Complete Uttar Pradesh Funding pattern 75% center and 25% state Project is D-linked through Ministry of Food processing Industries, India letter no. M.F.P.I/N.M.F.P.I/ Budget 2012-17 Date 27.03.2015 to Date 01.04.2015. Under project S.L.E.C/S.L.E.C till financial year 2014-15 sub-committee had approved only 51 projects and payment was made, Details are below
