 Problem: - lack of experience in the CM department
 Solution: - Formal training of all personnel in the CM
department.
 Problem: - No measurements of the configuration process are
taken.
 Solution: - Measurements must be taken because it is a
necessary part of CMM. If Xavor does not start taking
measurements of its CM process, it will most probably fail to attain
CMM certifications.
 Problem: - A record of Peer Reviews is not kept. The
information is reviewed and discarded.
 Solution: - The organization should log peer reviews along with
the project and team member details to effectively measure the
team’s performance.
Recommendations - Level 4

 Make a survey in their organization to see which


processes are being or not being measured
quantitatively.
 Make an organizational wide database in which
measurement are recorded.
 Start quantitative analysis during their planning and
development phases.
 Launch a pilot project in which the organization tests
and uses rigorous statistical methods.
