Introduction

Before using your printer, please read the following safety instructions to
make sure you use the equipment safely and effectively:
Tips contain important information about your printer.
Cautions must be observed to avoid damage to your printer.
Warnings must be followed carefully to avoid bodily injury.
Notes some additional hints on how to use your printer

Tips

 All rights reserved by our company, could not be used without


permission.
 There should be an authorized technician when install our printer, in
order to keep safety.

Cautions

 When setting up the printer, make sure you have enough space around
it. You may need more space behind the printer if you print on large
sheets of heavy stock.
 Avoid places subject to rapid changes in temperature and humidity.
Also keep the printer away from direct sunlight, strong light, or heat
sources (Temp range:59℉ to 86℉, Hum range 50% to 80%)
 Avoid places subject to shocks and vibrations.
 Keep the printer away from dusty areas.
 Be sure connected the reliable earth wire, especially of the mainboard.
Do not use the same socket with copy printer or air conditioner.
 Do not connect the earth wire on the following place:

 Gas tubing, there is a possibility of ignition and explosion.
 Telephone cables, heavy current might flow whenever a lightning
strikes
 Avoid the possible magnetic field. Such as electric drill, high-power
electric equipment.
 Please connect the following power: 50Hz. 220V (± 10%) > 15 A, or it
may cause a fire.
 Do not use aging or cracked wire.
 Do not maintain the printer by yourself without training.
 Turn off the power immediately and contact with the supplier when the
following happens:
 Liquid into the nozzle;
 Printer could not work normally.
 Please ware a antistatic gloves when touch the board if it possible. Or
not please keep your hand dry. Do not touch the middle of board by
your hand directly.

Warnings

 Do not touch the carriage or motor when printer is working.


 When you insert or pull out any cables or electronic boards, you must
power off the printer; and you need to power off the computer
 Keep the ink tank out of reach of children, do not taste it.
 If ink contacts the skin and eyes, flush with soap and water immediately.
Even see doctor to get medical aid.

Assembling the printer

The detail steps please check our installation PPT file.

Loading the materials

1. Lift up the pinch roller handle firstly.


2. Get a roll of material, fix it on the feed up holder, and lock it by knobs.
3. Put the edge of the media goes through between the pinch roller and
the feeding roller. Make sure the media is flat and straight in front of the
printer, and then push down the pinch roller handle to hold the media.
4. Put 1/3 of the clipper to cover the edge of the media, if put too much to
cover the edge of the media, it might cause media jam during printing.

2. Notes of printhead
 When get the printhead and printhead cable, make sure it clean and in
good condition.
 Keep your hand dry and clean, when you need to touch the printhead
or the printhead cable.
 Please wait several seconds when you need to touch the printhead,
because the printhead and board system all need time discharging
electricity.
 Please touch the reliable earth wire to avoid static electricity before
touch printhead and board system.
 If you have turn on the printer, please do not touch the printhead cable.
Do not splash any liquid into the socket of the printhead.
 Carefully check the printhead cable if any slanting, anti-insert,
dislocation to the printhead.

3. Installation of DX5 printhead


1). Please find the printhead cables with 31pins and printhead. Bend the
cable at about 2cm. Insert the cable to the top line. The blue side is
downward as shown.

Cautions:
 The blue side of the printhead cable should be downward at the top line
of printhead;
 The blue side of the printhead cable should be upward at the bottom
line of printhead.
 Please check carefully the metal pins outside of the connection
interface are even, have the same length, which means the cables

have connected well. If the pins outside of the connection interface are
not even, please re insert the cables. Or it will damage the printhead.

2). Put the printhead onto the carriage support carefully. Avoid the surface
of the nozzle touching any sharp part of printer.
3). Fix the printhead on the carriage by 3 pieces of screws as shown

4). Adjust physical position of printhead.


Move the carriage to the flat form, and then put the metal board to down
to the printhead. Adjust the carriage upwards or downward by four

screws besides as shown;

5). Adjust the printhead forwards or backwards by two screws at front of


carriage as shown.

6). Move the carriage back to the capping position.


7). Connect the other side of printhead cable on to the carriage board.

Cautions:

 On the carriage board the blue side of the printhead cable should be
also downward at the top line;
 The blue side of printhead cable should be upward at the bottom line of
carriage board.
 One cable connect the top line on both printhead and carriage board.
 Make sure the printer is power off and the power cord has been plug
out.

4. Installing the DX7 heads

1). Please find the printhead cables with 35pins and printhead.
Please note that the printhead cable, one side is the whole one, please
insert it into the printhead. And the other side is separate, that side should
be inserted into the carriage board.

Cautions:
 The blue side of the printhead cable should be downward at the top line
of printhead;
 The blue side of the printhead cable should be upward at the bottom
line of printhead.
 Please check carefully the metal pins outside of the connection
interface are even, have the same length, which means the cables
have connected well. If the pins outside of the connection interface are
not even, please re insert the cables. Or it will damage the printhead.

2). Put the printhead onto the carriage support carefully. Avoid the surface
of the nozzle touching any sharp part of printer.
3). Fix the printhead on the carriage by 3 pieces of screws as shown

4). Adjust physical position of printhead.
Move the carriage to the flat form. Adjust the carriage upwards or
downward by the knob;

5). Adjust the printhead forwards or backwards by two screws at front of


carriage as shown.

6). Move the carriage back to the capping position.

Cautions:

 One cable connect the top line on both printhead and carriage board.
 Make sure the printer is power off and the power cord has been plug
out.

5. Installing the DX8 heads

1). Please find the printhead cables with 29 pins and printhead.
You will find two cables, one with marked with UP, Please insert it into
the UP side of the printhead;
The other cable we marked with DOWN, please insert it into the down
side of the printhead

Cautions:
 The blue side of the printhead cable should be downward at the top line
of printhead;
 The blue side of the printhead cable should be upward at the bottom
line of printhead.
 Please check carefully the metal pins outside of the connection
interface are even, have the same length, which means the cables
have connected well. If the pins outside of the connection interface are
not even, please re insert the cables. Or it will damage the printhead.

2). Put the printhead onto the carriage support carefully. Avoid the surface
of the nozzle touching any sharp part of printer.
3). On the carriage side:
Please match the cable marks as we shows:

6. Installing the DX9 heads

1). Please find the printhead cables with 29 pins and printhead.
You will find two cables, one with marked with(L), Please insert it into
the Left cable port of the printhead;
The other cable we marked with(R), please insert it into the Right
cable port of the printhead

Cautions:
 Please check carefully the metal pins outside of the connection
interface are even, have the same length, which means the cables
have connected well. If the pins outside of the connection interface are
not even, please re insert the cables. Or it will damage the printhead.

2). Put the printhead onto the carriage support carefully. Avoid the surface
of the nozzle touching any sharp part of printer.
3). On the carriage side:
Please match the cable marks as we shows:

Connecting your printer

1. Make sure that both the printer and the computer are off.
2. Plug the power cord to the AC inlet on the back of the printer and a properly
grounded electrical outlet.
3. Plug the USB cable into the appropriate port on the printer and then the
other end of the cable into the appropriate connector on your computer.
4. After installing the control software into your computer, just turn on the
power, you could control your printer.(Please find the pages about the
control software installation in the following pages.)

Load the ink

1. Pour ink into the ink tank through filter by color. (from right to left should be K C
M Y)

2. Insert the ink tube into the ink tank by matched color.
3. Turn on the printer and control software. Click the online bottom on the
software.
4. Click “pump”, the ink pump will suck the ink from ink tank to printhead
automatically.
5. Check all the dampers have ink in it. It means we have load the ink into
printhead, and we could start to print now.

Control software

Installing the control software

Installing the software for Windows XP

Open the control software installation package. Open the application program

with name , following it steps. It will finish the installation

automatically.
ZTEDX5-2 for DX5 2 heads version.
ZTEDX7 for DX7 1 head or 2 heads version.

Installing the software for Windows 7

First to file the , and then install this software. Please


remember which root you choose.
1. Connect the USB cable between printer and computer. Open “my
computer” by right click. Open properties, and then device manager.
2. Find the right unknown device, and updating the driver by right click.
3. Choose Property and then updating the driver program.
4. Choose Browse computer for driver software
5. Choose From the computer device driver select list
6. Find the file by where the file folder is. Then open the file BJUSB_wlh

7. Choose X86, your computer will finish the installation automatically then.

8. please following all the tips. Till it finish installation automatically.

Printing with control software

Please double click the icon on your desk: , open the control

software.

Basic function

 Control pad: Basic control button.

Open: Open my computer to find the file which need to be print and add it
into software.

Power: The icon will light automatically if software connected with


computer. Or not please check USB cable or your software have not been
install successfully.

Add: Load printing file.

Setting: Please find the specifications at the following pages.

Connect/Online: Click it to connect software with printer. The icon will light
if well connect.

Home : Carriage move back to the capping, and capping the printhead,

Down: Material moves forwards.

Up: Material moves backwards.

Left: Carriage moves left。

Right: Carriage moves right

Clean:Carriage back to capping position and clean the printhead.

Flush:Flush the printhead.

Pump: The carriage returns back to the capping. Ink pump suck the ink
auto. Click it, it again it will stop.

Print: Click it to print.

Pause: Click to pause, click it again, printing continue.

Stop: Stop to print, carriage move back to capping position.

Test: Check the nozzle statement as shown. When you need to print in

the morning, you would better test the nozzle statement, so that the printing
is good enough.

Base:Set printing original position.

Move to: please ignore it.


Update steps: update the step moving distance during printing real time. When
you update the date, click the icon update to save it. The picture
shows overlap, you need to add value. If the picture shows blank,
you need to reduce value. The detail way to adjust, please check
the setting.
X edge: please ignore this function for this version.
Y edge: please ignore this function for this version.
Copies: Set the printing copies.
Update bi direction: Updating bi direction value real time. Click it to save the
value.

 Print setting

Basic setting: set printing value and way.


Heads: choose the working head you want. 1 Two head working. (L) left head
working. One head version please choose this. (R) right head
working.
Paper: Choose the paper type.
Skip blank: Choose whether you need to skip blank. 0: No need. 1: need to
skip blank.
Temperature: please ignore this function.
Direction: Choose printing direction. 0: print by bi-direction. 1: printing from left
to right. 2: printing from right to left.

Preview: Choose the preview way. 0: detail. 1: sketch.

Color bar: Setting the color bar item. If you use the eco-solvent ink, we
suggest you choose this function longtime.
Enable: Tick it to open color bar function.
Left: Show the color bar at the left of printing material.
Right: Show the color bar at the left of printing material.
Save: Change any value, please click it to save.
Line:Set the whole width of color bar(Unit mm).
Space: Set the width from the color bar to printing picture (Unit mm).

Clean setting: Set the cleaning function.


Enable: Choose it to auto clean and flush.
Clean: Choose it to auto clean according to the pass you set.
Flush: Choose it to auto flush.
Pass: Set the frequency of clean by pass.
Save: Save the value and function when you change.

Feather setting: Set feather function.


Gradient: Choose it to open feather function.
%: Set the feather percentage. This value should be less than 100%.
Save: Click to save the value when you changed .

Channel setting: Choose the print channel you need. Please choose all the
color normally.

Setting

Setting the printer date:


 Hardware adjustment:

Carriage Setting
Position: Shows whether encoder reader is work. The value shows is the
position of pumping position.
Position for capping: set the nozzle cap position left or right..
Platform height adjustment:
Cap: set the nozzle cap height
Wiping: set the wiper height.
Some time you need to adjust the height of them by manual on capping.
Back: click to the former option
Next: click to the next option.
Test: check the statement when you change any date.

Save: click it if change any date above and then click test.
Head XY angle adjustment: adjust the parallel position of printhead on the
carriage by manual.
1) One head version, You need to make sure the yellow line is in the same line
with black line. And Magenta line also need to in the same line with the
black line as shown.

If the magenta or yellow line is on the above of the black line as shown, please
adjust the left screws to make the printhead move forwards or adjust the right
screw to let the printhead back towards you as shown. If the magenta or yellow
line is below of the black line, please do the opposite operation.

2) Two heads version, please note that the upper parts is printed by left head,
and the lower parts is printed by right head.

For two heads, we advise you adjust left head in advance, take it as standard,
and then for the right head.

After that, if the red parts show overlap, it is means the right head need to move
back .

if that parts is have blank, it is means your right head need to move forwards.

Length setting
Scrape length:It is the carriage move distance after clean
Machine length:it is the max length the machine could move to. It have been
set in the factory, please don’t change it.

Pumping Setting
Pumping time: Setting the pump time. Advice value: 2000ms
Intensity: set the pumping pressure. Advice value 30%
Save: click to save the value if changed.
Test: test the statement help you to check the value.
Pause:
Flush setting
Waiting flush: click to let the printhead flush at the home position during pause.
The advice value is 20Hz
Frequency:

One pump interval: set the pump interval time. Advice value is 1 min

 Motor Setting:

Motor Y paper Setting: Set the delay time after print every pass. The unit
of time is millisecond. And then save it. Please set the value each pass.
Normally you just need to set 2 pass for 300ms. And 4 pass for 150ms for
one head version. Two heads version should be double that value.

Car station position


Car station: choose the position of your carriage station. Please choose 1.
the garage right for our printer.

 Software adjustment

Print mode setting: choose the X direction DPI. Please choose
3.XDPI=720 for our printer.
Head space setting: adjust the space between 2 heads. One head version
please ignore this function.
Click next to let this item into black, then you could updating this value.

Bidirection setting: adjust the value of bidirection. Click test you will find
this test bar. Choose the most strait line and add to right value according to
the date. Till the “0”line become the most strait line. For example, your

value shows is 24, and the test bar shows “1” is the strait line, so you need
to add 1 based on 24 to 25. And then save the value.

 Paper adjustment

Pass setting: adjust the move value of each pass.

Click test. the printer will print the follow test picture. Please check the test
picture, if the magenta line is above of the black line and there is a blank
between the black blocks(such as follow picture statement). please add
about 5 based on the date 280 to 285.
Click save, and then click test again. Till the test bar show as follow (the
magenta line is up with black line without any gap) is ok. Or not, please do
the former steps again.

Pass: Just show the pass date which you have changed in the software.

 Net setting: Set the net printing.

TCP/IP: The IP address is 127.0.0.1. Please keep it and save it.


Port:9100

 Driver setting: Set the printing driver. Do not change the value under the
instruction of our engineers.

YDPI: Choose the X direction dpi for each driver. Please choose 720
XDPI for our printer.
Modle:please choose 8 720 30K for our printer only.

Driver no: choose the driver number according to different temperature and
humidity. From No. 0 to No.14 is the fixed driver.

If you need to import new driver, please choose the number after No. 15.
And then click import. And then import the driver file the engineer sent to
you.

Param: please ignore this function for this printer.

Maintaining the Printer

Maintaining the printhead

1. Clean the printhead and test the printhead before your daily work.
2. Don’t touch the surface of printhead. Or it may damage the printhead.
3. When you stop working for more than 2 minutes, please click the button on
the computer to cap the printhead. Especially for eco-solvent ink.
4. When you finish your daily work, please turn off the power and plug out the
printer and computer.
5. If you do not use the printer for more than one two week, please inject
special solvent which for Epson head only into the printhead softly. And
then use the preservative film to cover the surface of printhead.

Checking Ink tank

1. Check the ink tank and waste ink tank before your daily work. Please pour
the same type of ink into ink tank on time.
2. Do not pour waste ink into sewage line.
3. If you need to change different company ink, please clean the ink system in
advance. (Do not use the running water to clean them, it may clog the
head)

Period maintain

1. Clean and oil carriage linear guide bearing block monthly.


2. Tighten all set screws on the printer roller bearings and rollers.
