“Going to college is good for the economic competitiveness of the individuals who

opportunities that can shape and even change an individual. By choosing a college or university
with good quality of education, a student may adapt to a greater variety of jobs and careers in their
near future. It may even enhance their specific set of skills that would be essential for the profession
of their choice. However, college is not limited to just doing their course work, but instead, a
student may be able to experience a wide range of activities that are outside their specializations.
In the Philippine setting, the main branches of the prestigious and well-known Universities
are located in its capital city, Manila. With that being said, most aspiring students from all over
the country, take risks and venture on the opportunities offered to them by their dream colleges
and Universities.
“Metro Manila has its own share of urban problems caused by rapid urbanization.” (2005,
De Guzman et. Al). Because of the city’s continuous urban growth, it resulted to an unaccustomed
rate of economic development and increase in population that created a huge demand for mobility.
Transportation is one of the main concern of students especially those living in provinces
and other areas far away from the location of Manila. In order for them to lessen their travel time
from their respective homes to their Universities, students usually opt to live in dormitories that
are near the area. However, there are some students who are willing to take the risks and perils of
transportation utilized by the freshmen students of Far Eastern university. (2) To provide data for
analysis with regards to the trip patterns of students in FEU. (3) To identify the total amount of

The study was limited only to the freshmen students of the academic year 2018-2019 in
