III. Stating and defining the problem
IV. Formulation of Hypothesis
V. Literature review of the existing knowledge in the area
Ans 1. I, II, III, IV, V
2. I, V, III, II,IV
3. I, III, V , IV, II
4. I, V, III, IV, II
Final Answer: 4 (I, V, III, IV, II) Correct Answer: 3 (I, III, V , IV, II)
EXPL: It was a most basic question. The steps involved in research are
I. Selection of a problem and formulating research question
III. Stating and defining the problem
V. Literature review of the existing knowledge in the area
IV. Formulation of Hypothesis
II. Preparation of research synopsis
After ‘Select ion of a problem and formulating research question’ immediately we should define the problem i.e. ‘Stating
and defining the problem’.
So the correct order was: I, III, V, IV, II. It was not matching with any options, but the most logical steps involved were

Volcanic erruptions affect
Ans 1. Atmosphere and hydrosphere
2. Hydrosphere and biosphere

Correct answer is: Lithosphere, biosphere and atmosphere and correct option is: 4
https://sites.google.com/site/adelaidegeohazardsa1641528/template/mount-gambier
How does the volcanoes effect the atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere, biosphere, anthroposphere?
1. Atmosphere:
Gases surrounding a celestial body make up its atmosphere
· For short term speaking, when the volcano eruption, all the ash particles would throw up into the atmosphere. The
volcanic ash can be a threat to aircraft, in particular those with jet engines where ash particles can be melted by the high
operation temperature.
· For long term speaking, volcanoes eruption could produce about 5*10^11kg of CO2 per year. For the research and the
calculation show that the volcanism produced about 3% of the total CO2 with the other 97%coming from the other
anthropogenic sources.
2. Hydrosphere:
The part of the earth composed of water id called the hydrosphere.
Volcanoes can affect the hydrosphere through the eruption, the lava and volcanic ash could cause the air pollution also
through the raining go in to the water cycle ad pollute the water as well. Also, the ocean’s water temperature will rise.
3. Biosphere:

3
The volcano eruption could kill the plants and the animals live nearby because of the hot lava and poisonous gases.
Therefore, the raining water which contains the volcano ash could influence the plants growth in long term.
4. Lithosphere:
The earth’s crust and the upper layer of its mantle make up the system call lithosphere. The force due to the eruption can
change, destroy or create the new type of rock and landform such as igneous rocks. Volcanic eruption often happens near
the boundaries of tectonic plates.
5. Anthroposphere:
Volcanoes can affect people in many different ways, the hot lave could destroy the building, road and field even the people.
On the other hand, volcanism can produce very rich soil for farming and spectacular range. Also it can show as a tourism
view such as Fuji Mountain in Japan.

Government Has Taken Several Measures to Minimise the Impact of Air Pollution: Javadekar
Air pollution is known to be one of the aggravating factors for many respiratory ailments and cardiovascular diseases.
Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) had conducted an epidemiological study on ambient air quality, respiratory
systems and lung functions of children in association with the Chittranjan National Cancer Institute, Kolkata.
To minimize the impact of environmental pollution particularly air pollution, the Government has inter alia taken the
following actions:
· Notification of National Ambient Air Quality Standards 2009, envisaging 12 pollutants;
· Formulation of regulations/statutes;
· Setting up of monitoring network for assessment of ambient air quality;

Government Initiatives
While there are several factors that contribute to smog including weather, the burning of crops, wind and temperatures,
India’s economic growth has been the main factor. The Indian government in 2015 launched the Air Quality Index (AQI) to
better communicate and monitor air pollution levels. This also helps people understand the levels of pollution. Public
anger has also forced the government to act. In October, after the Indian festival of Diwali (where firecrackers are used),
Delhi faced its worst smog in 17 years for around two weeks.

20.7 ROLE OF PARENTS During this period, the adolescents want independence from their parents and yet they are
dependent on them for their needs. They do not like to be told “Do this” and “Don’t do this”. Parents still want to control
them while the adolescents want freedom and this leads to a tussle between the parents and adolescents. Here, the
parents have to decide how much control they should exercise on their adolescent children, how much freedom is to be
given, in which area they can let the adolescent have his/her say and in which they need to put their foot down.
