MODELING GUI LAYOUT appendix |

Default Panel:
This tool set is organized
around modeling work that
transcends the specific
focused activities of the
shelves below.

These are tools that are

used throughout the
modeling process.

Modeling Shelves:
Choose the shelf that matches your current needs. If you are constructing curves, select the Curve shelf; while rendering, select the Render shelf.
These shelves are organized to focus you on the given task, thus simplifying the endeavor. Modeling shelves focus on process including Concept, Curve, Surface, Blend, Construction, and Data Exchange.
PAINTING GUI LAYOUT appendix |

Paint Panel:
This tool set is organized
around supporting the
painting shelves below.

These tools include

a basic gray scale
color palette, custom
texture brushes, image
manipulation, marquee
tools, image based Cut/
Copy/Paste, and curve
tools for drawing support.

Paint Shelf:
This shelf focuses on paint activity. These shelves are organized specifically for painting and layer management.
VISUALIZATION GUI LAYOUT appendix |

Vis Panel:
This panel is organized
around the development
and assignment of
materials to objects.

These tools are focused

on assigning and tweaking
shaders, and accesses
the stock shader library,
so is semi-redundant
with the Multi-lister. It is
different in its interaction;
it supports “drag and drop”
assignment of shaders
to surfaces as well as
Layers.
