Duá ul Adeelah Merits ‫دؾاء الؿدِلة‬
This dua'a contains the articles of faith. Every
faithful must recite this dua'a regularly to
drive away Shaytan, and to remain firm in the
true faith. A dying faithful, in the last moments
of life, should recite this dua'a, or , if it is not
possible, ask someone else to read it aloud
for him or her, so as not to be misled by
doubts which may come into the mind, or not
to be depressed emotionally, because these
forces together with the misleading
suggestions of Shaytan, more often than not,
in the last hour of life, make man die a death
of an infidel or hypocrite.
The Supplication for saving from deviation.

Duá ul Adeelah ‫ؾاء ال َؿدِلة‬ ‫د‬
َ ٓ َ َ ّ َّ
َّ‫الل ٌُ َّم َصو َؾلَ ُمح َّم ٍد َوال ُمحم ٍد‬َ
ِ ِ
O' Allah send Your blessings on
Muhammad and the family of
Muhammad.
allahumma salli àla muhammadin wa ali
muhammadin
ْ ُ ُ
َّ َ ْ َّ َّ ْ
‫ِبس ِم الل ِي الرحم ِن الر ِح ِّم‬
In the Name of Allah,
the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
bismi allahi alrrahmini alrrahimi

ْ ُ ُ
ٍَُ ً ‫﴿شٌ َد ا َّلل ُي َّاه ُي َال إل َي إ َّال‬

ِ ِ ِ
“Allah bears witness that there is no
god but He,
shahida allahu annahu la ilaha illa huwa

ْ ُ ُ
ْ ْ ُ َ َُ َْ َ
‫والمال ِئنة واولٍا ال ِؿل ِم‬
and (so do) the angels and those
possessed of knowledge,
walmala'ikatu wa ulu alìlmi

ْ ُ ُ
ْ ْ ً َ
‫لا ِئما ِبال ِكس ِط‬
maintaining His creation with justice;
qa'iman bilqisti
ْ ُ ُ
َ ْ ُ ْ ُ َّ َ
ُ‫ال ِإل َي ِإال ً ٍَ ال َؿ ِزِز الح ِنّم‬
there is no god but He, the Mighty, the
Wise.
la ilaha illa huwa alàzizu alhakimu

ْ ُ ُ
ُ َ ْ َّ َ ْ َ ّ َّ
﴾‫ِإن ا ِلدِن ِؾود الل ِي ا ِإلسالم‬
Surely, the (true) religion with Allah is
Islam.”
inna alddina ìnda allahi al-islamu

ْ ُ ُ
ْ ْ ْ
ُ ‫َو َاها ال َؿ ْبد الض ِؿ‬
ُ‫ّف ال ُمذ ِهب‬ َّ ُ
I am the slave—feeble, sinful,
wa ana alàbdu alddaìfu almudhnibu

ْ ُ ُ
ْ ْ ْ ْ
ُ‫ال َؿ ِاصُ ال ُمح َج ُاج ال َح ِكّر‬
disobedient, needy, and ignoble—
alàsi almuhtaju alhaqiru

ْ ُ ُ
َ َ ْ ُ ُ َ
ُ‫اشٌد ِلمو ِؿ ِمُ وخ ِا ِلك‬ْ
I testify to my Benefactor, Creator,
ash-hadu limunìmi wa khaliqi

ْ ُ ُ
ْ ُ َ َ
ُ‫ور ِاز ِلُ ومن ِر ِم‬ َ
Provider of me with my sustenance,
and my Honorer,
wa raziqi wa mukrimi
ْ ُ ُ
َ َ َ َ
‫هما ش ٌِد ِلذا ِث ِي‬َ
as same as He has testified to Himself
kama shahida lidhatihi

ْ ُ ُ
ُ‫َو َشٌ َد ْت َل ُي ا ْل َمالئ َنة‬

ِ ِ
and the angels have testified to Him
wa shahidat lahu almala'ikatu

ْ ُ ُ
َ ْ ْ ْ ُ َ
‫واولٍا ال ِؿل ِم ِمن ِؾب ِاد ِى‬
so have those possessed with
knowledge amongst His servants
wa ulu alìlmi min ìbadihi

ْ ُ ُ
ٍَُ ً ‫ب َّاه ُي َال إل َي إ َّال‬

ِ ِ ِ
that there is no god save Him
bi-annahu la ilaha illa huwa

ْ ُ ُ
َ ْ َ َ ّ
‫ذو ا ِلوؿ ِم وا ِإلحس ِان‬ُ
the Lord of bounties, favors,
dhu alnniàmi wal-ihsani

ْ ُ ُ
َ ْ َ َ َ ْ َ
‫والنرِم وا ِالم ِجو ِان‬
generosity, and kindness.
walkarami wal-imtinani
ْ ُ ُ
َ ٌ َ
ُ‫ل ِادر ِازل‬
He is Omnipotent, Eternal,
qadirun azaliyyun
ْ ُ ُ
َ ٌ َ
‫ؾا ِلم اب ِدي‬
All-knowing, Everlasting,
àlimun abadiyyun
ْ ُ ُ
َ َ
‫حُ اح ِدي‬
Ever-living, One and Only,
hayyun ahadiyyun
ْ ُ ُ
َ ْ َ ٌ
‫مٍجٍد سرم ِدي‬ُ ْ َ
Self-existent, Endless,
mawjudun sarmadiyyun
ْ ُ ُ
ٌ‫َس ِم ٌّؽ َب ِصّر‬

All-hearing, All-Seeing,
samiùn basirun
ْ ُ ُ
ٌ‫ُمر ٌِد َهارى‬

ِ ِ
Willing, Discriminating,
muridun karihun
ْ ُ ُ
َ َ ٌ ْ
‫مد ِرك صم ِدي‬ُ
All-aware, and eternally Besought of
all.
mudrikun samadiyyun
ْ ُ ُ
ُ‫لص َفات‬
ّ ِ ‫َِ ْس َج ِح ُّق ً ِذ ِى ا‬
He is worthy of all these attributes,
yastahiqqu hadhihi alssifati

ْ ُ ُ
‫ؾاء ال َؿدِلة‬
ّ‫َو ًُ ٍَ َؾ َلَ َما ًُ ٍَ َؾ َل ّْي فُ ِؾز‬

‫ِصفا ِث ِي‬
and He, characterized by all these
sublime attributes,
wa huwa àla ma huwa àlayhi fi ìzzi sifatihi

َ‫هان لٍِا لبو وج ٍِد الكدر ِة‬ َ ً ّ ْ َ َ َ

‫والكٍ ِة‬
was All-powerful prior to the existence
of might and power,
kana qawiyyan qabla wujudi alqudrati

walquwwati
ْ ُ ُ
ْ ْ َ ََْ ً َ َ َ َ
‫وهان ؾ ِلّما ل ْب َّو ِإِج ِاد ال ِؿل ِم‬

‫وال ِؿل ِة‬ َ
and All-knowing before the origination
of knowledge and reason.
wa kana àliman qabla ijadi alìlmi walìllati

ْ ُ ُ
َ‫َل ْم َِ َز ْل ُس ْل َع ًاها إ ْذ َال َم ْم َل َن َة َوال‬
َِ َ
‫مال‬
He has been always Authority when
there was neither sovereignty nor
wealth.
lam yazal sultanan idh la mamlakata wa la
mala
ْ ُ ُ

‫د‬
‫ولم ِزل سب ْحاها ؾلَ ج ِم ِّؽ‬

‫االحٍ ِال‬
He has been always Glorious under all
circumstances.
wa lam yazal subhanan àla jamiì al-ahwali

ْ ُ ُ
َ ٓ َ ْْ َ ْ َ ُ ُ ُ ُ
َ
‫وجٍدى لبو الكب ِو ِفُ از ِل اال ِزال‬
His Being is before all precedence in
the pre-eternity of sempiternity.
wujuduhu qabla alqabli fi azali al-azali

ْ ُ ُ
َ
Duá ul Adeelah
ْ َ ْ ْ َ ْ َ ْ َ ُ ُ َ َ َ
‫د‬
‫وبكاؤى بؿد الب َؿ َ ِد ِمن غّ ِر ا ِهجك ٍال‬

َ
‫وال زو ٍال‬ َ
His Remaining will be after all endings
without any extinction or
disappearance.
wa baqa'uhu ba`da alba`di min ghayri
intiqalin wa la zawalin
ْ ُ ُ
ٓ َ َّ َ
‫غ ِوُ ِفُ االو ِل واال ِخ ِر‬
He is self-Sufficient at the beginning
and at the end
ghaniyyun fi al-awwali wal-akhiri

ْ ُ ُ
َّ َ َ ْ ْ َ ْ ُ
‫مسجغ ٍن ِفُ الب ِاظ ِن والؼ ِاً ِر‬
and All-independent inwardly and
outwardly.
mustaghnin fi albatini walzzahiri

ْ ُ ُ
َّ َ َ ْ َ
‫ال جٍر ِفُ ل ِضّ ِج ِي‬ َ
There is no injustice in His judgment,
la jawra fi qadiyyatihi
ْ ُ ُ
َ َ َ ْ َ
‫وال مّو ِفُ م ِشّئ ِج ِي‬َ َ
nor is there unfairness in His
management,
wa la mayla fi mashi'atihi
ْ ُ ُ
ْ َ َْ ُ َ َ
‫وال ػلم ِفُ ثك ِد ِِر ِى‬
nor is there unfairness in His
administration,
wa la zulma fi taqdirihi
ْ ُ ُ
َ ُ ُ ْ َ َ ْ َ
‫وال مٌرب ِمن حنٍم ِج ِي‬َ َ
nor is there any escape from His
sovereignty,
wa la mahraba min hukumatihi

ْ ُ ُ
َ َ َ ْ َ ْ َ َ َ
‫وال ملجا ِمن سعٍا ِث ِي‬
nor is there any shelter against His
firm grip,
wa la malja'a min satawatihi

ْ ُ ُ
َ َ ْ َ َ
‫وال موجَ ِمن ه ِكما ِث ِي‬َ
nor is there any salvation from His
punishment.
wa la manjan min naqimatihi

ْ ُ ُ
ُ‫َس َب َك ْت َر ْح َم ُج ُي َغ َض َبي‬
His mercy overtakes His Wrath.
sabaqat rahmatuhu ghadabahu

ْ ُ ُ
َ َ َ ٌ َ ُ ُ َ َ
ُ‫َوال ِفٍث ُي احد ِإذا ظل َبي‬
None can escape Him when He
summons.
wa la yafutuhu ahadun idha talabahu

ْ ُ ُ
ْ َّ َ َ ْ َ َ
‫ّف‬
ِ ‫ازاح ال ِؿلو ِفُ الجن ِل‬
He covers all logics for His obligatory
decrees,
azaha alìlala fi alttaklifi

ْ ُ ُ
‫ّف‬ َّ َ ْ َ َ ْ َّ َّ َ َ
ِ ‫وسٍى الج ٍَ ِف َّّق بّن الض ِؿ‬
‫ِف‬ِ ‫والش ِر‬
treats absolutely equally the weak and
the noble,
wa sawwa alttawfiqa bayna alddaìfi

walshsharifi
ْ ُ ُ
ُ َ ْ َ َ َ َّ َ
‫منن اداء المامٍ ِر‬
makes capable to carry out His
commands,
makkana ada'a alma'muri

ْ ُ ُ
ُ ْ َْ َ ْ َ َ َ َّ َ َ
‫اب المحؼٍ ِر‬
ِ ‫و‬‫ج‬ِ ‫ج‬‫ا‬ ‫ّو‬‫ب‬ِ ‫س‬ ‫و‬ٌ‫س‬ ‫و‬
and makes easy to abstain from His
prohibitions.
wa sahhala sabila ijtinabi almahzuri

ْ ُ ُ
ْ
Duá ul Adeelah
ْ ُ َ ُ َّ َ َ َّ ّ َ ُ ْ َ ‫د‬
‫لم ِن ِل ِف العاؾ َّة ِ َإال دون الٍس ِؽ‬

‫والعال ِة‬ َ
He does not make obedience a burden
but according to one's real capacity.
lam yukallif alttaàta illa duna alwusì

walttaqati
ْ ُ ُ
ُ‫ُس ْب َح َاه ُي َما ْاب َّ َن َه َر َمي‬

All glory be to Him! How manifest His
generosity is!
subhanahu ma abyana karamahu

ْ ُ ُ
َ‫َو ْاؾ َلَ َشاه ُي‬

How sublime His standing is!
wa a`la sha'nahu
ْ ُ ُ
َ‫ُس ْب َح َاه ُي َما َاج َّو َهّل ُي‬

All glory be to Him! How magnificent
to seek Him is!
subhanahu ma ajalla naylahu

ْ ُ ُ
َ‫َو ْاؾ َؼ َم إ ْح َساه ُي‬

ِ
How splendid His favors are!
wa a`zama ihsanahu
ْ ُ ُ
َُ ْ َ َ ّ َ ُ َ َ ْ َ َ َ
‫بؿح االه ِبّاء ِلّب ِّن ؾدلي‬
He has sent the Prophets in order to
show His justice,
baàtha al-anbiya'a liyubayyina àdlahu

ْ ُ ُ
َُ ْ َ َ ْ ُ َ َ ْ َ َ َ َ
‫وهصب االو ِ َصّ ْ َاء ِلّؼ ٌِر ظٍلي‬

ُ‫َوفضلي‬
and appointed successors [for the
Prophets] in order to make known
His munificence and grace.
wa nasaba al-awsya'a liyuzhira tawlahu wa
fadlahu
ْ ُ ُ
َ ْ ّ َ َّ ْ َ َ َ
‫وجؿلوا ِمن ام ِة س ِّ ِد االه ِبّ ِاء‬ َ َ
He has made us of the community of
the Chief of Prophets,
wa jaàlana min ummati sayyidi al-anbya'i

ْ ُ ُ
َ ْ ْ َ
‫وخّ ِر االو ِلّ ِاء‬ َ
the most favorable of His saints,
wa khayri al-awliya'i
ْ ُ ُ
َ ْ َ ْ
‫وافض ِو االص ِفّ ِاء‬َ
the best of His elite ones,
wa afdali al-asfiya'i
ْ ُ ُ
َ ْ ْ
‫واؾلَ االز ِهّ ِاء‬َ
and the most sublime of the pure
ones;
wa a`la al-azkiya'i
ْ ُ ُ
َّ‫ُم َح َّمد َص َّلَ ا َّلل ُي َؾ َل ّْي َو ٓالي َو َسل َم‬

ِِ ِ ٍ
that is Muhammad, may Allah send
blessings and benedictions upon
him and his Household.
muhammadin salla allahu àlayhi wa alihi
wa sallama
ْ ُ ُ
َْ َ َ َ َ َ َّ َ ٓ
‫اموا ِب ِي و ِبما دؾاها ِإلّ ِي‬
We thus believe in him, in all that to
which he has called us,
amanna bihi wa bima daàna ilayhi

ْ ُ ُ
َ َ َ ْ َّ ٓ ُ ْ
ْ‫َوبالك ْران ال ِذي اهزل ُي َؾلّ ِي‬
ِ ِ
in the Qur'an which He revealed to
him,
wa bilqur'ani alladhi anzalahu àlayhi

ْ ُ ُ
َ ْ َ ْ َ ُ َ َ َ َّ ّ َ َ
‫و ِبٍ ِص ِّ ِي ال ِذي هصبي ٍِم الغ ِد ِِر‬
and in his Successor whom he
appointed on the Ghadir Day
wa biwasiyyihi alladhi nasabahu yawma

alghadiri
ْ ُ ُ
َ َ ْ َ ْ َ َ َ َ
"ُ‫ "ًذا ؾ ِل‬:‫واشار ِإلّ ِي ِبكٍ ِل ِي‬
and to whom he referred by saying,
“This is Àli.”
wa ashara ilayhi biqawlihi hadha àliyyun

ْ ُ ُ
َ
َ‫َو ْاش ٌَ ُد َّان اال ِئ َّمة االب َرار‬
ْ
I also bear witness that the Imams—
the pious
wa ash-hadu anna al-a'immata al-abrara

ْ ُ ُ
ْ َ َ ُ ْ
َ‫َوالخلف َاء االخ َّار‬
and benign vicegerents [of Allah]
walkhulafa'a al-akhyara
ْ ُ ُ
َ ْ ُ ْ ُ َّ َ ْ َ
‫ٍل المخج ِار‬ِ ‫س‬ ‫لر‬ ‫ا‬ ‫د‬ ‫ؿ‬ ‫ب‬
after the Chosen Prophet are:
ba`da alrrasuli almukhtari

ْ ُ ُ
َّ ُ ْ ُ َ َ
‫ؾ ِلُ ل ِامؽ الن ف ِار‬
Àli, the subduer of the infidels.
àliyyun qamiù alkuffari

ْ ُ ُ
ْ
Duá ul Adeelah

ُ‫َو ِم ْن َب ْؿ ِد ِى َس ّّ ُد ْاوال ِد ِى الح َسن‬
َ
‫د‬
َ ُ
ٍُّ ‫بن ؾ ِل‬ِ ْ
Following him is the chief of his sons,
al-Hasan, the son of Àli.
wa min ba`dihi sayyidu awladihi alhasanu

ibnu àliyyin
ْ ُ ُ
Duá ul Adeelah
َ ْ َ ُ َّ ُ ْ ّ ُ ُ َّ
‫خم اخٍى ا َّ ِلسب ْط الجا ِبؽ ِلمرض ِاة‬ ُ ‫د‬
ُ‫الل ِي ال ُح َس ّْن‬
Then comes his brother, the grandson
and seeker of Allah’s pleasure; al-
Husayn.
thumma akhuhu alssibtu alttabiù limardati
allahi alhusaynu
ْ ُ ُ
َ ُ َ ْ َّ ُ
ُ‫خم الؿا ِبد ؾ ِل‬
Then comes Àli, the [distinctive]
worshipper [of Allah].
thumma alàbidu àliyyun

ْ ُ ُ
ٌ‫ُخ َّم ا ْل َبال ُر ُم َح َّمد‬

ِ
Then comes the Cleaver (of
knowledge), Muhammad.
thumma albaqiru muhammadun

ْ ُ ُ
َ‫لصاد ُق َج ْؿف ٌر‬ ُ

َِّ ‫خ َّم ا‬
Then comes the veracious Ja`far.
thumma alssadiqu ja`farun

ْ ُ ُ
َ ُ ُ َ ْ َّ ُ
َ‫خم الن ِاػم مٍس‬
Then comes the suppressor of rage,
Musa.
thumma alkazimu musa

ْ ُ ُ
َ َ ّ َّ
ُ‫خم ا ِلرضا ؾ ِل‬ ُ
Then comes the pleased, Àli.
thumma alrrida àliyyun

ْ ُ ُ
ٌ‫ُخ َّم ا َّلجك ُُّ ُم َح َّمد‬

ِ
Then comes the pious, Muhammad.
thumma alttaqiyyu muhammadun

ْ ُ ُ
ُّ‫ُخ َّم ا َّلوك ُُّ َؾل‬

ِ ِ
Then comes the refined, Àli.
thumma alnnaqiyyu àliyyun

ْ ُ ُ
َ ْ َ ْ َّ ُ
ُ‫خ َّم الز ِه ُُّ ال َؿ ْسنر ُّي الح َسن‬
ِ
Then comes the pure resident of
Àskar, al-Hasan.
thumma alzzakiyyu alàskariyyu alhasanu

ْ ُ ُ
َ ْ َ َ ْ ُ َّ ُ ْ ُ
ُ‫خ َّم الحجة الخل ُف الكا ِئم‬
Then comes the Argument, Successor,
Assumer,
thumma alhujjatu alkhalafu alqa'imu

ْ ُ ُ
َ ْ ُ ْ ُّ ْ َ ْ ُ َ َ ْ ُ ْ
َ‫الموجؼر المٌ ِدي المرج‬
Awaited, Well-guided, and Expected
almuntazaru almahdiyyu almurja

ْ ُ ُ
ْ‫ا َّلذي ب َب َكائي َبك َّت ا ُّلده َّا‬

ِ ِ ِِ ِ ِ
on account of whose existence, this
world is kept in existence,
alladhi bibaqa'ihi baqiyat alddunya

ْ ُ ُ
َ َ ْ َ ُ ْ ُ
‫و ِبّم ِو ِي ر ِزق الٍرى‬َ
on account of whose blessing, the
created beings are provided
sustenance,
wa biyumnihi ruziqa alwara
ْ ُ ُ
َ َ
ُ‫َو ِب ٍُ ُج ٍِد ِى خ َبج ِت ا ْالر ُض َوا َّلس َماء‬
and on account of whose existence,
the earth and the sky are kept in
firmness.
wa biwujudihi thabatat al-ardu walssama'u
ْ ُ ُ
ً‫عا َو َؾ ْدال‬
ً ‫ض ل ْس‬ َّ َ
َِ ‫َو ِب ِي َِ ْمال الل ُي ا ْالر‬
Through him, Allah shall fill the earth
with equity and justice
wa bihi yamla'u allahu al-arda qistan wa

àdlan
ْ ُ ُ
ً‫َب ْؿ َد َما ُمل َئ ْت ُػ ْل ًما َو َج ٍْرا‬

ِ
after it will be filled with inequity and
injustice.
ba`dama muli'at zulman wa jawran

ْ ُ ُ
ً‫َو ْاش ٌَ ُد َّان ْال ٍَ َال ٌُ ْم ُح َّجة‬

I also bear witness that their words are
decisive arguments,
wa ash-hadu anna aqwalahum hujjatun

ْ ُ ُ
َ ‫َوا ْم ِج َد َال ٌُ ْم َفر‬

ً‫ِضة‬
ِ
to comply with their orders is
obligatory,
wa imtithalahum faridatun
ْ ُ ُ
ً‫َو َظ َاؾ َج ٌُم َم ْف ُرو َضة‬

the obedience to them is
commissioned [by Allah],
wa taàtahum mafrudatun
ْ ُ ُ
ً‫َو َم ٍَ َّد َث ٌُ ْم الز َم ًة َم ْكض َّّة‬

ِ ِ
to love them is necessary and pre-
ordained,
wa mawaddatahum lazimatun maqdiyyatun

ْ ُ ُ
ً‫َوا ِال ْلج َد ُاء بٌم ُموج َّة‬

ِ ِِ ِ
and to pattern after them will definitely
achieve salvation,
wal-iqtida'a bihim munjiyatun

ْ ُ ُ
ً‫َو ُم َخ َال َف َج ٌُم ُم ْرد َِة‬

ِ
but to oppose them will definitely
bring about destruction.
wa mukhalafatahum murdiyatun
ْ ُ ُ

َّ‫َو ًُ ْم َس َاد ُات ْاًو ال َجو ِة‬
‫د‬
َِ َْ
‫اجم ِؿّن‬
They are, moreover, the chiefs of all
the inhabitants of Paradise,
wa hum sadatu ahli aljannati ajmaìna

ْ ُ ُ
ّ ْ َ ُ َ َ
‫وشفؿاء ٍِ ِم ا ِلد ِِن‬ ُ َ
the interceders on the Judgment Day,
wa shufaà'u yawmi alddini

ْ ُ ُ
َْ َ ْ ْ ُ َّ َ
‫ّن‬
ِ ‫ك‬ِ ّ ‫ل‬‫ا‬ َ‫ل‬‫ؾ‬ ‫ض‬
ِ ‫الر‬‫ا‬ ‫و‬
ِ ً‫ا‬ ‫ة‬ ‫م‬‫ئ‬ِ ‫ا‬ ‫و‬
and, undoubtedly, the leaders of the
inhabitants of the earth,
wa a'immatu ahli al-ardi àla alyaqini

ْ ُ ُ
ْ ْ ُ َ ْ
َ‫َوافضو االو ِص َّ ِاء ال َم ْر ِض ّّّن‬
ِ
and the best of the satisfied
Successors [of the Prophets].
wa afdalu al-awsya’i almardiyyina

ْ ُ ُ

‫واشٌد ان المٍت حق‬
I also bear witness that death is
certain,
wa ash-hadu anna almawta haqqun

‫ومساءلة مون ٍر وه ِن ٍّر ِفُ الكب ِر‬

the interrogation by Munkar and Nakir
in the grave is certain,
wa musa'alata alqabri haqqun

َ َ ْ َ ْ َ
‫والبؿح حق‬
the raising of the dead is certain,
walba`tha haqqun
ْ ُ ُ
َ َ ُ ُّ
‫والوشٍر حق‬ َ
the final assemblage is certain,
walnnushura haqqun
ْ ُ ُ
َ َ َ ّ
‫وا ِلصراط حق‬َ
the Discriminating Bridge is certain,
walssirata haqqun
ْ ُ ُ
َ َ َ ْ َ
‫وال ِمّزان حق‬
the Scales [of deeds] is certain,
walmizana haqqun
ْ ُ ُ
َ َ َ ْ َ
‫وال ِحساب حق‬
the calling into account is certain,
walhisaba haqqun
ْ ُ ُ
َ َ َ ْ َ
‫وال ِن جاب حق‬
the record book [of deeds] is certain,
walkitaba haqqun
ْ ُ ُ
َ َ َّ َ ْ َ
‫والجوة حق‬
Paradise is certain,
waljannata haqqun
ْ ُ ُ
َ َ َّ
‫والوار حق‬َ
Hellfire is certain,
walnnara haqqun
ْ ُ ُ
َ ٌ ٓ
َ‫َو َّان ا َّلس َاؾ َة ا ِث َّة ال َرِ َب ِفٌّا‬
ْ
the Hour [of resurrection] will certainly
come, without any dispute,
wa anna alssaàta atiyatun la rayba fiha

ْ ُ ُ
ُُْ ْ َ ُ َ ْ َ َ َّ َّ َ
‫وان اللي ِبؿح من ِفُ الكبٍ ِر‬
and Allah shall raise up those who are
in graves.
wa anna allaha yabàthu man fi alquburi

ْ ُ ُ
َ َ َ ُ ْ َ َّ
ُ‫اللٌم فضلم رجا ِئ‬ ُ َّ
O Allah, in Your favor do I put my
hope,
allahumma fadluka raja’i

ْ ُ ُ
َ َ ُ َ ْ َ َ
ُ‫وهرمم ورحمجم ام ِل‬َ ُ َ َ َ
Your generosity and mercy do I expect
confidently,
wa karamuka wa rahmatuka amali

ْ ُ ُ
َ‫َال َؾ َم َو لُ ْاس َجح ُّق بي ا ْل َج َّوة‬

ِِ ِ ِ
I have no single deed by which I
deserve Paradise,
la àmala li astahiqqu bihi aljannata

ْ ُ ُ

َ‫َوال ظ َاؾة ِلُ ْاسجٍ ِج ُب ِبٌا‬
‫د‬
َ‫ا ّلر ْض ٍَان‬

ِ
nor do I have any act of obedience [to
You] due to which I deserve Your
pleasure;
wa la taàta li astawjibu biha alrridwana
ْ ُ ُ
ََ ْ َ َ َ َ ْ َ ُّ َ َ ْ ّ َّ
‫ِإال ِاهُ اؾجكدت ثٍ ِحّدك وؾدلم‬
except that I believe in Your Oneness
and Your Justice
illa anni i`taqadtu tawhidaka wa àdlaka

ْ ُ ُ
َ‫َوا ْرَث َج ّْ ُت إ ْح َس َاه َم َو َف ْض َلم‬

ِ
and I hope for Your benevolence and
Your favor.
wartajaytu ihsanaka wa fadlaka

ْ ُ ُ
ٓ َ
ْ‫َو َث َش َّف ْؿ ُت إل ّْ َم با َّلوب ُّ َوا ِل ِي ِمن‬
ِ ِ َ ِ َّ ِ
‫ِاحب ِجم‬
I thus seek the Prophet and his
Household, Your most-beloved ones,
to intercede for me before You;
wa tashaffa`tu ilayka bilnnabiyyi wa alihi
min ahibbatika
ْ ُ ُ
ْ ْ َ ‫َو‬
َ‫اهت اه َر ُم االه َر ِمّن‬
and You are verily the most Generous
of all those who treat generously
wa anta akramu al-akramina

ْ ُ ُ
َ‫َو ْار َح ُم ا َّلر ِاحمّن‬

ِ
and the most Merciful of all those who
show mercy.
wa arhamu alrrahimina
ْ ُ ُ
َ َ َ َ َّ َّ
َّ‫َو َصلَ الل ُي َؾلَ هب ّّوا ُمحم ٍد‬
ِِ
May Allah send blessings to Our
Prophet, Muhammad
wa salla allahu àla nabiyyina muhammadin

ْ ُ ُ
ْ ٓ
َ‫َوا ِل ِي اج َم ْؿّن‬
and upon all of his Household,
wa alihi ajmaìna
ْ ُ ُ
َّ
َ‫ّن الع ِاًرِن‬ َّ
َ ‫الع ّّب‬
ِ ِِ
the pure and immaculate,
alttayyibina alttahirina
ْ ُ ُ
ً ‫َو َس َّل َم َث ْسل‬

ً‫ّما َه دّ ًرا َه دّرا‬
ِ ِ ِ
and send upon them many many
benedictions.
wa sallama tasliman kathiran kathiran

ْ ُ ُ

ُِّ ‫َوال حٍل َوال ل ٍَّة ِإال ِبالل ِي ال َؿ ِل‬
‫د‬
َْ
‫الؿ ِؼ ِّم‬
There is no might and no power except
with Allah, the All-high, the All-great.
wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billahi

alàliyyi alàzimi
ْ ُ ُ
َ َ َّ
َ‫الل ٌُ َّم ِا ْارح َم ا َّلر ِاحمّن‬
ِ
O Allah! O most Merciful of all those
who show mercy,
allahumma ya arhama alrrahimina

ْ ُ ُ
َ‫إ ِّهُ ْاو َد ْؾ ُج َم َِ ِك ِّوُ ً َذا َو َخ َبات‬
ِ
ُ‫ِد ِِو‬
I am depositing with You this faith of
mine and my firmness on this belief;
inni awda`tuka yaqini hadha wa thabata dini

ْ ُ ُ
َ‫اهت َخ ّْ ُر ُم ْس َج ٍْدع‬
َ ‫َو‬
ٍ
and You are the ever-best of all those
who keep deposits.
wa anta khayru mustawdaìn

ْ ُ ُ
َ َْ ْ َ َ ْ َ ْ َ َ
‫ولد امرثوا ِب ِحف ِغ الٍدا ِئ ِؽ‬
You have commanded us to keep safe
deposits that are put with us;
wa qad amartana bihifzi alwada'iì

ْ ُ ُ
ْ َ ُ ُ َ ْ َ َّ َ
ُ‫فردى ؾلُ ولت حضٍ ِر مٍ ِث‬َ ُ َّ ُ َ
so, (please) keep for me this deposit to
give it back to me at the time of my
death
faruddahu àlayya waqta huduri mawti
ْ ُ ُ
َ َ َ ْ ُ َ َ َ ُ َ ْ َ
‫و ِؾود مساءل ِة مون ٍر وه ِن ٍّر‬
and at the time of the interrogation of
Munkar and Nakir;
wa ìnda musa'alati munkarin wa nakirin

ْ ُ ُ
َ‫ب َر ْح َم ِج َم َِا ْار َح َم ا َّلر ِاحمّن‬

ِ ِ
[I beseech You] in the name of Your
mercy; O most Merciful of all those
who show mercy.
birahmatika ya arhama alrrahimina
ْ ُ ُ
َ‫َّالل ٌُ َّم إ ّهُ ُاؾ ٍُذ ب َم م َن ا َلؿدِلة‬

Many authentically reported supplications have comprised the following statement:
ِ ِ ِ ْ َ ِْ َ ْ ِ ِ
‫ِؾود المٍ ِت‬
O Allah, I seek Your protection against
deviation at the hour of death.
allahumma inni aùdhu bika mina alàdilati

ìnda almawti
َ ْ ُ ُ
Duá ul Adeelah ‫دؾاء الؿدِلة‬
Deviation at the hour of death stands for shifting from
the right to the wrong at the hour of death. To explain,
Satan attends at the hour of death in order to deceive
the moribund and suggest evil to him in order to make
him doubt about his religion. If Satan succeeds, he will
pull out faith from the heart of the dying person. To
avoid that, many supplications have comprised
statements of seeking Almighty Allah’s protection
against deviation at death. Fakhr al-Muhaqqiqin says,
“To escape deviation at the hour of death, one should
bethink the proofs of creed in which he believes, as well
as the five principles of the religion with all of their
irrefutable evidences, with absolute sincerity and purity
and should then trust them with Almighty Allah
beseeching Him for giving them back at the hour of
dying. This can be done by saying the following prayer:

َ‫الل ٌُ َّم ِا ْارح َم ا َّلر ِاحمّن‬
ِ
O Allah, O most Merciful of all those
who show mercy,
allahumma ya arhama alrrahimina

ْ ُ ُ
َ‫إ ِّهُ ْاو َد ْؾ ُج َم َِ ِك ِّوُ ً َذا َو َخ َبات‬
ِ
ُ‫ِد ِِو‬

Muhammad
and the family of Muhammad.

bismi allahi alrrahmini alrrahimi

ٍَُ ً ‫﴿شٌ َد ا َّلل ُي َّاه ُي َال إل َي إ َّال‬

shahida allahu annahu la ilaha illa huwa

walmala'ikatu wa ulu al`ilmi

la ilaha illa huwa al`azizu alhakimu

inna alddina `inda allahi al-islamu

wa ana al`abdu aldda`ifu almudhnibu

al`asi almuhtaju alhaqiru

ash-hadu limun`imi wa khaliqi

kama shahida lidhatihi

ُ‫َو َشٌ َد ْت َل ُي ا ْل َمالئ َنة‬

wa shahidat lahu almala'ikatu

wa ulu al`ilmi min `ibadihi

ٍَُ ً ‫ب َّاه ُي َال إل َي إ َّال‬

bi-annahu la ilaha illa huwa

dhu alnni`ami wal-ihsani

ٌ‫َس ِم ٌّؽ َب ِصّر‬

ٌ‫ُمر ٌِد َهارى‬

yastahiqqu hadhihi alssifati

wa huwa àla ma huwa àlayhi fi ìzzi sifatihi

kana qawiyyan qabla wujudi alqudrati

‫وهان ؾ ِلّما ل ْب َّو ِإِج ِاد ال ِؿل ِم‬

wa kana àliman qabla ijadi alìlmi walìllati

‫ولم ِزل سب ْحاها ؾلَ ج ِم ِّؽ‬

wa lam yazal subhanan `ala jami`i al-ahwali

wujuduhu qabla alqabli fi azali al-azali

‫وبكاؤى بؿد الب َؿ َ ِد ِمن غّ ِر ا ِهجك ٍال‬

ghaniyyun fi al-awwali wal-akhiri

mustaghnin fi albatini walzzahiri

wa la mahraba min hukumatihi

wa la malja'a min satawatihi

wa la manjan min naqimatihi

sabaqat rahmatuhu ghadabahu

wa la yafutuhu ahadun idha talabahu

azaha al`ilala fi alttaklifi

wa sawwa alttawfiqa bayna aldda`ifi

makkana ada'a alma'muri

wa sahhala sabila ijtinabi almahzuri

‫لم ِن ِل ِف العاؾ َّة ِ َإال دون الٍس ِؽ‬

lam yukallif altta`ata illa duna alwus`i

ُ‫ُس ْب َح َاه ُي َما ْاب َّ َن َه َر َمي‬

subhanahu ma abyana karamahu

َ‫َو ْاؾ َلَ َشاه ُي‬

َ‫ُس ْب َح َاه ُي َما َاج َّو َهّل ُي‬

subhanahu ma ajalla naylahu

َ‫َو ْاؾ َؼ َم إ ْح َساه ُي‬

ba`atha al-anbiya'a liyubayyina `adlahu

‫وهصب االو ِ َصّ ْ َاء ِلّؼ ٌِر ظٍلي‬

wa ja`alana min ummati sayyidi al-anbya'i

َّ‫ُم َح َّمد َص َّلَ ا َّلل ُي َؾ َل ّْي َو ٓالي َو َسل َم‬

amanna bihi wa bima da`ana ilayhi

wa bilqur'ani alladhi anzalahu `alayhi

wa biwasiyyihi alladhi nasabahu yawma

wa ashara ilayhi biqawlihi hadha `aliyyun

wa ash-hadu anna al-a'immata al-abrara

ba`da alrrasuli almukhtari

`aliyyun qami`u alkuffari

wa min ba`dihi sayyidu awladihi alhasanu

thumma al`abidu `aliyyun
