EXPERIENCE

Designated Early Childhood Educator | Peel District School Board (Vista Heights
Public School)
SEPTEMBER 2014 – PRESENT
Currently working in collaboration with the classroom teacher to plan and implement an age
appropriate Full Day Kindergarten Program. Experience working with students of various needs
and disabilities and have worked collaboratively with an Educational Assistant in the classroom as
well as the Special Education Resource Teacher to ensure that IEP goals are being met in the
classroom. Experience planning and organizing field trips for the Kindergarten grade as well as
individual classroom trips.

I also have 3 years of experience as the Designated Health and Safety Representative for the
school that I am employed. This role involved completing monthly inspections for Health and
Safety hazards at the school and communicating these concerns with the principal, vice principal,
custodians and staff members.

Student Teacher Placement | Halton District School Board


JANUARY 14, 2019 – MAY 24, 2019
Completed over 100 hours of field experience in a grade 1/2 split class and a grade 5 classroom.
Successfully completed two student teaching placement in a Grade 4/5 class for the English side
of a French Immersion program and a placement in a Grade 3 classroom.
During my Grade 3 placement, I have participated in many professional development
opportunities such as:
 Moderating grade level math assessments
 Math coaching
 Modifications and accommodations for students with IEPs (worked collaboratively with
the Special Education Resource Teacher and Educational Assistant)
 Assistive Technology in the classroom

Summer Health and Safety Inspector | Peel District School Board


JULY 2017 – AUGUST 2017
Inspected twelve elementary schools and one high school of health and safety hazards
throughout the summer. This involved contacting and working with custodians to schedule times
to inspect the schools and communicating any concerns that I had.

Designated Early Childhood Educator | YMCA of Oakville


JANUARY 2014 – JUNE 2014
Worked in the before and after school program at two schools in Oakville, ON. Planned and
implemented an inquiry based, age appropriate program for children ages 4 to 8 years of age.

LEADERSHIP

Coordinator of the Children’s Tractor Pull | Bruce County Heritage Association


AUGUST 2004 – PRESENT

I have volunteered with the Bruce County Heritage Associate for the past 15 years coordinating
the Children’s Tractor Pull, which takes place every August during their Tractor and Steam Show.
This involves contacting community organizations for donations to include in the children’s
participation bags, supervising volunteers that are helping run the program and communicating
with families that participate each year.

Flash Mob Club | Halton District School Board (Anne J. MacArthur Public
School)
JANUARY 14, 2019 – MARCH 8, 2019

During my teaching placement at the Halton District School Board, I participated in running a
Flash Mob club with my associate teacher. Along with other staff members, we rewrote the
school song to ACDC’s Thunderstruck and planned with the Flash Mob club of students from
grades 3-8 to present the new song at a school assembly.

Junior Boys’ Volleyball Team | Halton District School Board (Anne J. MacArthur
Public School)
JANUARY 14, 2019 – MARCH 8, 2019

During my teaching placement at the Halton District School Board, I participated in coaching the
Junior Boys’ Volleyball Team. This involved weekly practices alongside fellow staff members at
the school as well as two after school volleyball tournaments.

Games Club | Halton District School Board (Anne J. MacArthur Public School)
JANUARY 14, 2019 – MARCH 8, 2019

During my teaching placement at the Halton District School Board, I created a games club for
students alongside fellow student teachers that were placed at the school and one supervising
teacher. We held the games club every Wednesday for students to come and play various games
such as Monopoly, Domino’s, Life, and various card games.
