Buying equipments for the lab. One of the major task was monitoring the
commissioning of 1000 ton pre-tensioning bed. Organised training to lab
technicians and prepared the operating and safety guidelines for the
prestressing operation in the lab.

1991-92: Project Leader: A Study on the Performance and Maintenance of

Bridges in Peninsula Malaysia (Vot: 71233, RM20,000 UPP grant).
Studies have been carried throughout Peninsula Malaysia. About 150
bridges were inspected and rated visually. Team members: Assoc. prof.
Shahrin Mohammad and Dr. Mohd. Noor Mohd. Basir. One paper was
presented in an International Conference and another paper presented
in National Seminar. Research completed.
1999 Project Leader (from July 1999): A study on JKR new

prestressed T-Beam bridge section. IRPA Grant (Vot: 72078, RM
240,000). A study on full-scale 18 m prestressed T-beams. Research
completed.
Project Leader: The study on flexural behaviour of light-weight

bridges for Majlis Perbandaran Melaka. The jobs including visual
inspections, non-destructive testings, load testing and computer

1993 Professional Training At PSC Freyssinet (Jan-April)- Assistant

Projects Engineer.
Working in the design office for 3 weeks. Study construction drawings of

Permas Jaya Bridge including all prestressing works and the details of
travellers formwork. Also carried out prestress losses calculations of
another ordinary bridge.

Working on site for 3 months (until 30/4/93). Project brief: construction

of a 600m prestressed cantilever box girder bridge. The main work were
supervising the preparation work of 40 m prestressed post-tensioned
beams including prestressing operations and grouting. On the box-girder
construction, works include supervising the placement of tendon ducts,
anchorages and stressing operations.
1993 At Zainal Abidin Jurutera Perunding (May-December)-

(a) Involved in the design of 4 bridges in Segamat for JKR. Also prepare
document for soil investigation, progress report to JKR, tender
documents and costing.The bridges have been constructed.
(b) Design, prepare tender document and costing for the replacement of a
timber deck with concrete deck of a bridge in Taman Dawani for Majlis
Daerah Kulai.
(c) Prepare a proposal of privatisation development in Tangkak for Mahar

Tegoh Sdn Bhd.
(d) Prepare tender document, costing, evaluate tender and attend site
meeting of the construction of Jalan Lengkongan for Majlis Daerah
Kulai.
(e) Design and supervise the construction of steel structures for the
renovation works of Kulai branch Maybank office.
(f) Involved in the investigation of structural integrity of Flat Bukit Chagar,

and prepare a report to Johor State Government.
(g) Design the internal plumbing for Dataran Bandaraya Johor Bahru.
