Teaching Philosophy

While thinking about my Teaching Philosophy, I ask myself the question of why I want to be a
teacher, and there is no one answer to that question. First, I believe that every student is entitled to an
outstanding education, and as a teacher, it is my job to make sure my students get that education. As a
teacher, you will have students that are willing to learn, but then you will have those that push back and try
to do everything but do the work and don't want to learn what's being taught. These students are the student
that I will do my best to reach out to and not give up on.
I also want to teach because growing up with dyslexia; I found myself struggling with what I
thought was no one to help me teachers thought I was trying, and I thought teachers did not care. So, when I
teach, I want my students to know that I'm there for them. I want them to know that they can come to me if
they are having problems,
My objective for my students would be to leave the class feeling like they learn something. I want
my students to be comfortable and answer questions and also ask questions because that's the only way they
can truly understand what's being taught. I will always have my students in groups because this way they
could help each other, they may not be comfortable asking me questions in front of the class, but they will
ask their peers for help.
I want my students to understand what I'm teaching, it's my job to make sure they have all tests
assessments, and that can't happen if they don't know what I'm teaching. Many students for whatever their
reasons don't raise their hands in class, so as the teacher, I will not ask the students to this to raise their hands
I will call on them. I also want my students to gain a sense of responsibility what I mean by this is that I
want my students to turn in their work and also be responsible enough to do their homework and turn in on
time. I know that this might be a lot to ask what overtime I feel like I might be able to get my kids to do this.
I know that as a new teacher I'm going to have some struggles, but as to your progress, I'm sure that I can get
my students to do things that I won't.
I Will use technology in my classroom so that I can make sure that my students stay engaged.
Websites like Khoot and nearpod will allow students to use their phones inside of the school this student can
use their phone for something constructive. I would also use class discussions, but instead of having the
students raise their hands, I will use a random name generator check the student that I will call on. When I
select activities, I will think about all of my students, and how those students learn.
I will also provide extra credit work for students that need a little extra help with their grades.
However, no matter how much you try and teach your content, there will always be students that will That
don't understand everything.
