Process Engineer- Metallurgical

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain an ongoing log of Product performance, issues and engineered solutions for improvements to
support product/production goals.**

• Evaluates Processes by monitoring production and or test programs; applying knowledge of Materials
and Processes; conferring with Customers and Department heads, using observations from operators
for determining parameters for root cause analysis of process variations.**

• Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing,

modifying, and testing manufacturing equipment; conferring with Customer Representatives.**

• Supports equipment decision-making information by calculating production rates, material costs and
reviewing future production goals; estimating future requirements. **

• Provides Metallurgical expertise and supervision of Product development projects to include employee
training during implementation prior to full hand off to production personnel.**

• Identify process improvement and cost reduction potentials.**

• Perform other tasks as required by Engineering Manager.**

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

• BS Degree in Engineering, Material Science, or related field.*

• Experience in medium to high volume manufacturing setting preferred.**
• Basic understanding of Machining preferred.**
• Additional Metallurgical experience a plus.*

Language, Math, Reasoning Ability Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively with Customers, Management and production.*

• Ability to use Word, Excel, and other computer based systems.**
• Proficient in CAD use.**
• Ability to read and understand blue prints and machine parts or assembly drawings.*

Other Skills and Abilities

• Ability to effectively communicate within a team environment; ability to cross train and effectively
perform multiple functions.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to
finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is required to sit and
stoop, kneel, or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision,
depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
