In everyone’s life teachers play a very important role to build up their future.

Teachers are also known as "Guru" in Malaysia as they teach us all the knowledge
to face every situation in our life by improving our skills, knowledge and shape us
with the correct structure. After our parents we only get the knowledge from our
teachers only no matter whether we are in school or college they morale and
discipline always encourage us to do the best in our life and be a successful
person.In honour of our Teacher’s, we celebrate the Teacher’s day on 16th May
every year just to show them our respect and love for them .On this Teacher’s day
students get to say hearty thankful wishes to their beloved teachers of their selfless
job of Teaching.Teacher's Day is completely different from the usual school days .
On this day , the teacher do not teach the students . Instead , they get to relax and
indulge in various fun activities in the school premises.

One of the key features of the Teacher's Day is teachers will dress up as
students .That is so interesting .After the school bell rings , teachers will line up .
They will walk to the assembly ground along with some students who will be playing
musical instruments like drums and saxophone . It will be so lovely . Once they arrive
at the ground , all the students will stand up and clap their hands together . Next ,
students and teachers will be singing the national anthem and state song and
followed by ' Kami Guru Malaysia ' by the teachers only . Later , there will be some
speeches by the Education Minister and Education Director which will be read by
senior assistant teachers and lastly the school principal will deliver his speech to
thank his teachers .

After the speeches , the teachers are invited to the school auditorium and are shown
various performances organized by the students from different classes. Dance
performances , poem recitation , plays , fancy dress competitions and magic show
are held . This shows are to entertain the teacher and put down all their stress after
watching it . Some teachers volunteer to perform dance or sing songs on this
occasion . In addition , games such as musical chairs , dumb charades and passing
the parcel are played on this occasion too . Most of these games are played along
with the teachers . It is a treat to see the teachers playing these games with full
enthusiasm . Many team building games are also played as a part of Teacher's Day
celebration . Students and teachers play these game together. This is a great way to
build a bond between the two .

Furthermore in most schools , students will deliver thank you speeches . Some
students will bring gifts such as a bouquet of flowers ,cards, presents and other
tokens , which are sometimes hand-made , to show that they care and respect for
their teachers .Not only that , cake cutting ceremony will be held at that moment .
There will be a big creamy delicious cake with candle lights and will be cut by elder
teachers . The cake will be shared by teachers and students . Besides , some
teachers will get the popular teacher's award . For instance , there are the most
dedicated teachers , funny teachers , fierce teachers , beautiful teacher and caring
teachers .The students will select by the voting in the forms given . This will be the
climax of the event and also the best activities that I like .

Immediately , the teachers will change their uniform into track suits to get ready for
outdoor games . The male teachers usually play soccer with senior students whereas
the female teachers will take part in the netball games . It is very interesting to see
teachers playing games in a funny way . Later , they will be a telematch between the
teachers . There are competitions like running in a sack , busting by hitting other
teachers or students , filling water bottle by hands and so forth . All the student will
cheer up the teachers and they will be a lot of laughters . At the end of the game ,
the teachers will be exhausted because they are getting old . Most of them will be
sweating terribly .Finally , before the students are dismissed , they will be a
photograph session together with students and teachers . Everyone will show happy
faces in the photograph session .

Moreover , some students will invite their class teacher to celebrate a small party in
the classroom . The students will prepare tasty refreshments and drinks to eat
together . In the lunch hours , all the teachers will go to the canteen or the main hall
to have a special buffet . Sadly , they will ask all the students to go back early on that
day by noon . Delicious food will be served to the teachers only .
The presents will be given for those who win the game .They also will be lucky draw
competition and the luckiest teachers will get a luxury gift box .

In conclusion , Teacher's Day is indeed a day that offers the much needed respite
from the routine school activities . It is a fun-filled day for students as well as
teachers and both of them look forward to it . Together , the teachers and students
have a lot of fun on this special occasion .
