The father of Lang is the leader of barangay and they want Lang to get
married by a responsible and hardworking guy. As time passes by, the parents of
Lang realized tha she is getting older still Lang is not yet married, the father of Lang
decided to have a competition, the reward is to get married by the most beautiful
lady of the unnamed barangay and a cash. The leader of the barangay
announced the competition and encourages the single men to join the competition
The participants rush to their houses to plant the seed and after two weeks
the participants were worried including Balu because their plant is not growing even
an inch, the 4 participants decided to buy a fully grown plant from the market but
Balu decided he won’t to cheat in the competition. After 3 weeks that were given to
them they returned to the leader’s house carrying their fully grown plant but Balu
carries a pot full of soil without a plant. Meanwhile the leader saw their work, he was
disappointed to the 4 participants but he was amaze to Balu, the audience were
shocked and also Balu, the leader told them that the seed were boiled therefore
the seed surely will not grow and the leader announces that Balu wins the
competition because of his honesty Balu deserves to win.
Balu is very happy to win the competition and happy to marry the most
beautiful lady of their barangay. After a month Balu and Lang were married to each
other. Since their barangay is unnamed the people and the leaders agreed to
name it as “Balulang” as the memory of hardworking and honest guy and to Lang
as the most beautiful lady of their barangay.

-I realized now that it is very good to now the history of my barangay where I lived, if
this task was not given to me maybe until now I did not know what is the history of
our barangay
