London - Casual

● Kiln* (Soho, Thai) - modern Thai restaurant which is the sister to the grazing goat.
● Padella* (London Bridge, Pasta) - supposed to be the best simple Italian pasta restaurant in
London, am a bit sceptical but would give it a try
● Boa* (Soho, Chinese) - Chinese bun place, always has a monster queue outside of it
● Bar termini - fat Tony’s (Bond Street, London) - bit uncertain about this one and not sure if I believe
all the good reviews
● Sorella (Clapham, Italian) - from the guys that own the diary
* - denotes no booking just walk-in which is super irritating

● The Palomar (Soho, Israeli) – this is a real pain to get reservations at but ppl who have been rave
about it
● Nuala (Old Street, British)
● Farang (Highbury, Thai)
● St Leonard’s (Shoreditch, modern European)
● Perilla (Newton Green, modern European) – got a great review from cheese and biscuits who is
pretty good
● Nobu (Mayfair) – sushi
● Bocca di Lupo (Soho) - Italian
● Gymkhana (Mayfair) - Indian

London - Fine Dining

● Kitchen Table at Bubble Dogs (Marylebone, modern European) – pretty intimate (20 seats around
the kitchen) and supposed to be great
● Ikoyi (Piccadilly Circus, West African) – no idea whether this will be good but wanted to see as it is
niche
● Beck (Green Park, Italian) - bit cautious on this one given it is in hotel (and a chain no less but has
good reviews)
● The Ninth (Goodge street, French / Mediterranean) – French Mediterranean-style tapas (all
sharing)
● Aulis (?) - 8 seat restaurant by Simon Rogan who is such a good cook
● Sketch (Oxford Circus) – afternoon tea, not dinner

London - Would Go Again

● The Ledbury (Notting hill, modern European) - probably the best restaurant in the UK that I have
been to food wise
● Restaurant Story (Tower Bridge, modern European) - went maybe 2 years ago and it was the first
time in a while that I was really knocked back by a restaurant in London. Also did the best Bloody
Mary I have ever had
● The Glasshouse in Kew (Kew, modern European) - really great for an afternoon lunch followed by
an afternoon in Kew
● Le petit Maison – always a winner

A Bit Outside London

● Midsummer House (Cambridge, modern European) - I have not been here in years but it is a
fantastic restaurant in the summer particularly
● The Sportsman (Kent, British)
● The Little Fish Market (Hove, Seafood)
