Edwiser Site Monitor v1.0.0


Hello there!

Welcome onboard the program of Edwiser Site Monitor plugin!

With Edwiser Site Monitor plugin, you’ll be able to observe and manage your site usage and
other aspects of your Moodle LMS.

Edwiser Site Monitor requires bootstrap libraries and works best on Moodle versions 3.4 and
above.

Here’s how Edwiser Site Monitor further enhances your Moodle experience, with the following
functionalities:

● Analyze Site Usage on the Dashboard

● Be updated about the plugins that need attention

● One-click update of your existing plugins

 
 

PLUGIN INSTALLATION
Coming to the Installation part, it’s as easy as it can get! All you’ve to do is follow the
steps given below.

1. Go to Site Administration

2. Switch to Plugins tab and select Install Plugins

3. Drag and drop plugin zip file or choose the file from window

4. Then click on Install plugin from the zip file

5. Once Verification is done, the system will ask you to Upgrade the site. Just click on
Upgrade database.

6. The plugin is installed successfully.

7. As soon as plugin installation is successful, ​Edwiser Site Monitor will automatically be


added to your Dashboard. ​You don’t need to manually add this block.

 
 

FEATURES
Here’s how you can get the best out of your Edwiser Site Monitor plugin.

1) Live Status:

a) CPU usage percentage

b) Memory usage percentage along with used memory and total memory.

c) Storage usage percentage along with used storage and capacity.

d) User section shows the number of users who can use sites, the number of
suspended users and the number of deleted users.

e) Live users show the number of users who are currently logged in.

 
 

2) Last 24 hours:

a) The graph shows your site usage for currently selected day in date dropdown.

b) The graph shows CPU, Memory, and Storage usage line.

c) Graph x-axis represents time and the y-axis represents usage in percentage

d) When you hover on the graph, then tooltip shows the site usage for that time.

e) Date dropdown allows you to switch between the dates and according to graph
will change.

 
 

3) Plugins Overview:
a) Plugins overview sections show a list of additional plugins installed in
Moodle.

b) The section contains two tabs.

c) Available updates tab shows a list of plugins which receives an update. This list
contains plugins from Moodle directory as well as Edwiser Plugins.

d) Notes section shows Settings link (If available), Uninstall link (If supported)
available new version, plugin release, plugin maturity, Download link, plugin info
link, Changelog (Only for Edwiser Products), and ‘Install this update’ button.

e) If the plugin is an Edwiser plugin, ‘Install this update’ will download the plugin
from Edwiser site and update that plugin. For plugins from the Moodle directory,
‘Install this update’ will follow the core way to update the plugin.

f) ‘Install new plugin’ redirects the user to core plugin installation page. If the user
clicks on ‘Check for update’ button, then new updates for the plugins will be
fetched from the Moodle site and Edwiser site.

BLOCK SETTINGS

1. You can configure block settings and can set the threshold usage limit for email.

2. Refresh rate allows admin to change frequency to fetch live site usage.

3. If you enable threshold limit then the email will be sent to admin when site usage goes
beyond the limit set in the configuration. (Note: Email will be sent only when the limit is
observed through adhoc_task.)

4. Ex. if CPU higher limit set to 80% and current usage is 90% then an email will be sent
and the same will be saved in the database. On the same day, another email will be sent
if CPU usage goes beyond 90%. Same things will be followed for memory and storage
usage.
