Homily

Have your parent ever noticed that your grades were dropping and they got annoyed and
frustrated and take away something you love such as your phone, your iPad or every not allows
you to attend your favorite sports so this doesn't distract your studies and also collide with
them. This results from you mad and angry at your parents and you may also ask them to change
the punishment because it may be your favourite thing in the whole wide world but the part at all
children miss is that they believe their parents are purposely doing it, but we mistook the fact
they are doing it for our own benefits.

In the gospel Luke 11:1-13, this passage conveys the message that we can't always be selfish and ask
God for the things that we want, this passage says to only ask God for things we need and that is
what God will give to you. When you ask God for something and it never comes to you, you may
feel like God doesn't like you but he is helping us by getting us in the habit of not getting
caught up with the things we desire which won't benefit our life's in anyway. God loves us that is
why he is helping us by not giving us everything we desire. He also helps us to realise what is a
good and meaningful life is by only getting things essential in life instead of getting things
that won't benefit our lives in anyway. This will not affect our lives as we are not living a
meaningful life anymore cause we are going all of our desires. This is shown in the verse:’ i
tell you, … your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.’this
will impact the society and yourself positively as you will get into the habit and god will lead
you to a good and meaningful life.

In the film ‘Coach Carter’, the moral is shown when the basketball team wasn't allowed to play
their game until their grades improved. The team didn’t like the decision but the team gradually
realised why their coach did that, and they also realised how important it was to have good grade
and getting into college. Furthermore, the coach also taught them the importance of working
together as a team, to show commitments to not only basketball but also your grades. The
basketball coach who is an example of a person living a meaningful and cheerful life as he has
helped his whole team realised the importance of their education and the fact of getting into
college. Not only did the coach teach them the importance of education but he also taught them
to have a better and more meaningful life for themselves. the coach leads the basketball team
into the right path by showing them justice and respect and also their education.

The idea which is conveyed is that god is trying to help us see the issue which is occurring in our
daily lives and to resolve these issues by living a happy and meaningful life, by living by the
mercy values. This also shows us god wants us to not be selfish but to help one another so they are
lead onto the right path as well and they can live a happy and meaningful life.
