Optical Protection Switch

The Optical Protection Switch (OPS) is a protection mechanism that allows self-
commutation between two optical fibers with multiplexed signals or directly
between two optical DWDM channels. The OPS may be positioned at several
points of the system for implementing different protection schemes:
