Overview : In this lesson, the learner demonstrates understanding of systems of linear equations
through the local environment and with the used of local livelihood business like swine
raising and poultry production in our different barangays.

3. Generalization
When can we say that the system
is Independent, Dependent or If a pair of linear equation has:
Inconsistent? *Different slopes and different
y- intercepts are called
Independent system
*Same slope and different
y-intercepts are called Inconsistent
system.
* Same slopes and same

4. Fixing Skills
Transform the following pairs of
equation in the form y= mx + b and
illustrate the kind of system based on
its slope and y-intercept.

𝒚= −𝟑 𝒙 − 𝟑 Correct answers class
INDEPENDENT

2. 𝟑𝒙 + 𝒚 = 𝟔 2. 𝒚 = −𝟑𝒙 + 𝟔
𝟔𝒙 + 𝟐𝒚 = 𝟏𝟎 𝒚 = −𝟑𝒙 + 𝟓
INCONSISTENT

3. 𝒙 + 𝒚 = 𝟒 3. 𝒚 = −𝒙 + 𝟒
𝟐𝒙 + 𝟐𝒚 = 𝟖 𝒚 = −𝒙 + 𝟒
DEPENDENT

5. Application Guide the students

*When can you become independent towards the
from your parents? realization that
*When can you say that inconsistency “Being consistent in
of one’s decision will lead to dispute? our decisions in life
*Is it okay to just keep on depending will make us better
on another’s help all the time? and dignified person”
*Why is it important to become
consistent?

IV. Evaluation :
