When we see the current scenario of industrial development it is moving
towards the automation in core industry where the human efficiency has some
limitations for example Foundry or in mass production and also for saving time
and money. For this the industry requires people who has the knowledge about this
field. For that it is our responsibility to educate our student to satisfy the demand of
industrial development and to make ready our students for this, so we have to learn
first about advanced technologies then only we teach them effectively. For this
MSBTE has also started this work by introducing such subject like mechatronics
for mechanical engineering student in the curriculum for diploma student in I
scheme which is started from 2017.
When we decided to arrange a STTP for engineering and polytechnic faculty
we have selected the subject which is advanced and by considering the future
trends of the industry. So we can cope up the shortfall between our actual
curriculum which we are teaching and the current trends in the industry, we have
finalize the subject Mechatronics and Industrial Automation consultation with
consultation of our advisory committee and departmental faculty. Then the same
proposal is sent to the ISTE by our STTP coordinator Porf. R.N.Lipare for
approval, within two days we got the approval from ISTE side on the condition of
100% self financed basis.
 In this Five day STTP program there is around 40 to 50% sessions are
practical session because when we see practically we can learn well. For this I will
specially thankful to our mother institute DKTE`s TEI Ichalkaranji and its
Mechanical Engineering Department, and also Prof. Dr. V.R.Naik, HOD
Mechanical Engineering Department Prof.S.A.Soundattikar Lab Incharge of
Mechatronics and Industrial Automation Laboratory and also as the resource
person for this STTP, for allowing us to do the practical's at their place.
The Theoretical sessions will be conducted over here and the practical
session will be conducted in Mechatronics and Industrial Automation Laboratory,
Mechanical Engineering Department DKTE`S TEI Ichalkaranji.
I will give you the short introduction about Mechatronics and Industrial
Automation Laboratory. This lab is developed by Mechanical Engineering
Department DKTE`S TEI Ichalkaranji in association with BOSCH Rexroth,
Germany , investment of around 4 crore and I have proud to say that this is the
first advanced lab for the student with this huge investment within the Maharashtra
state. The lab consists of state of art equipments such as PLC, Hydraulic and
Pneumatic workstations, Sensors, Modular Mechatronic System, MLD and CNC
workstations. Within this five day STTP we will go through this advanced
techniques and equipments, and learn it. So with this I can conclude my convener
speech.
