MUSIC
Sound and Silence

 Sound – everything that we hear by our ear.

 Silence - is the absence of sounds.

 Voice - is a sound produce by people. Our voice enables us to make sounds


by speaking and singing. It can be low, high, soft or loud.

Noise and Music


 Music - is organized and pleasant sounds.

 Noise - is unorganized and unpleasant sounds.

Notes
A musical sound or the symbol used to write it down. It stands for a unit of
sound.it tells how long each note is sung or played.

Rest
Rests means silence. Have the same time value as notes. When a rest is
written in a piece of music, it means that the player pauses for that amount of
time before playing the next note.

Colors
It’s a reflection of light that is seen by the eyes.

Three Main Groups of Color

Physical Fitness

Physical fitness is the body’s ability to function properly and efficiently.


Being physically fit and healthy will help you perform your everyday tasks and
physical activities with ease and without getting tired easily.

Fitness Components

 Health-Related Fitness Components


It consist of the following:
o Body composition
o Cardiovascular Fitness or Endurance
o Flexibility
o Muscular Strength
o Muscular Endurance

These components refer to how well your body functions.

 Skill-Related Fitness Components


These are the components that factor up your fitness level with
regards to skills. These components are about your motor skills that are
required in sports and particular everyday tasks. They can also be called
“motor fitness”.

These components are:


o Agility
o Balance
o Coordination
o Power
o Reaction Time
o Speed

BMI (Body Mass Index)


Body mass index, or BMI, is a measure of body size. It combines a person's
weight with their height. The results of a BMI measurement can give an idea
about whether a person has the correct weight for their height.

Food
Eating right is important to achieve and maintain good health. We just have to
know what is ‘right’ food for you is.

4 Basic Food Groups


1. Fruits and vegetables
- This is the foundation of every meal. It must be the
half part of your meal.

2. Grains
- This food group gives energy to the consumer. It
should make up around one-quarter of your plate
during meals.

3. Dairy
- These products provide calcium, which is good for
children’s bones and teeth.

4. Protein
- These foods not only provide protein but also B
vitamins, zinc and iron. It should also make up
around one-quarter of your plate during meals.

Food Labels

Most packaged food come with a nutrition facts panel. The panel contains
information about the nutritional value of what you are about to buy.
Study the picture below it shows you how to read the Nutrition Facts Panel.
Date Markings – is a means of controlling the growth of bacteria that continues
to grow even at refrigerated temperatures. It also assures the food is discarded
before these bacteria can cause foodborne illness.

How to Mark the Date:


 ‘Use By’ dates – should not be consumed after the date indicated for
health and safety reasons. Food cannot be sold beyond their ‘Use By’
date.
 ‘Best Before’ dates – food should be consumed by their ‘Best Before’ date
to ensure quality. Food can be sold their ‘Best Before’ date provided it is
still fit for consumption.
 ‘Baked On’ and ‘Baked For’ dates – can be used for bread with a shelf life
less than 7 days.
