Network Insights | Improved maps

Improved Maps
• We have revamped our maps infrastructure and
optimized the rendering logic to significantly improves
scale, performance and the overall user experience.
• Loading time is vastly reduced while the map
interactions like zoom and pan are extremely smooth.
• Map infrastructure can scale to a very large number of
polygons e.g. ZIP code, municipalities etc.

To explore the new maps, open any of our maps product (regional, local, cell info)

Network Insights | RSRQ

• RSRQ - Real world indicator of signal quality for 4G networks.

This metric offers valuable insights into capacity problems,
coverage holes & hand-off issues

• RSRQ will be available on both regional and local maps. The

metric will only be supported for tile 14 and tile 16 on local
maps.

To explore RSRQ, open the metric drawer in any of the

maps (regional and local maps) product.

Network Insights | Granular metrics

Granular Metrics - we have added tile 18 (street-level data) support

for the following metrics
• Samples - total # of samples collected per network type (per
partner)
• All cellular + Wi-Fi samples - total # of samples collected for the
overall market (across all partners)
• Signal strength - the average strength of the power received in a
network from a single reference signal (RSRP)

To explore granular metrics, open the metric drawer in local maps

Network Insights | Granular metrics – Things to note
• The data powering granular metrics is sourced from a different table. It has a different
polling and sampling logic as compared to the existing tables powering Network Insights.
Number of samples will be higher in some cases due to a higher sampling rate

• Granular metrics in most cases provides a snapshot over a period of time. The
aggregations, cuts and the data on info panel view will be different given the table schema
is different.

• Granular metrics will only be available for local maps

• Metrics are grouped under “street level” bucket given the higher granularity with tile 18
(150 m) as compared to the “city level” metrics we support today with tile 14 (2.4 Sq. Km)
and tile 16 (600 m).

Network Insights | All Cells extract

Better export for Cells

• “Download cells” option added to
cell alerts at a region level
• Selecting download cells will
download all cells alerted across
all regions in a CSV file

To explore the new feature go to cells -> select an alert -> at a region level select share on top
right corner -> select download cells

Network Insights | Lowest Quality of Experience (QoE) Alert and Causes
• Alert that helps connect the dots between network experience and network conditions. It identifies the cells that have the
worst network experience and helps understand the cause .
• Network experience tracked includes:
• Download speed
• Download speed (busy time)
• Latency
• Signal Strength
• Network conditions identified are as follows:
• Coverage
• Congestion
• Demand
Bottom 5% of the cells for either metric in network experience tracked category. Colored dot indicates the severity. Max of 300
cells per region will be displayed. This will be default alert when you navigate to cells
