Metabolic Animals
Process
Nutrition Animals have a digestive system
or organs which is responsible for
the digestion of food and
absorption of nutrients that is the
source of energy of animals, the
carbohydrates produce is stored
in the animals are called
glycogen.
Respiration Animals have lungs or gills that
allows them to breathe and
allows the blood to distribute vital
products to the body. Animals
take in oxygen and produces or
releases carbon dioxide in the
atmosphere.
Growth Animal growth is supported and
bounded by the organ systems
and organs of the species by
means of food and nutrients
intake.
Reproduction There are species called algae
that is asexually reproduced
while larger variety of species
both reptiles and mammals are
sexually reproduced.
Cell Structure Animals doesn’t have cell wall but
cilia are present in the organelles
such as tight junctions
Response Animals has a nervous system
that can helps them to respond to
stimuli quickly that makes them
to be more sensitive.
Plants
Plants have this green
pigment called chlorophyll
which absorbs sunlight that
enables the plant to produce
its own food in the process
called photosynthesis which
made them to be autotrophs
not like the animals the
product produced by the
process of photosynthesis is
called starch since plants
doesn’t have digestive organs
the starch are stored inside
the plant.
In plant respiration it is the
transformation of chemical
energy into usable energy in
biological molecules by
means of ATP involving
oxygen consumption and
carbon dioxide
manufacturing. Opposite to
the animals, Plants produces
oxygen to the atmosphere
and absorbs carbon dioxide
through the use of stomata.
Plant growth takes place time
by time by means of the
meristematic mechanism
current in the tip of the roots
and the stem.
Plants are asexually
reproduced because they
don’t have a reproductive
organ this can be through
budding, spores or spore
bearing caused by wind or
insects.
Plants has a cell wall,
chloroplast, plastids and
other various organs.
Plants responds to stimuli
such as contact. Light and
etc. but they are less
sensitive due to lack of
sensory glands.
