• born in Pandacan, Manila.


• At the age of 7, she was already starring in
Spanish zarzuelas such as Mascota, Sueño de un
Vals, and Marina.
• led the Kaisahan ng Kababaihan sa Pilipinas, the
Gagalangin Ladies Association and the Red Cross
Fund drive

CCP’s world-class Production Design
Center.

for drama, musicals, operas and
concerts. He was known for using
indigenous and locally available
materials for his stage designs, such
as bamboo, abaca fabric, twice-raw
hemp and rattan chain links.
