Thank you for submitting your application. You will now receive an acknowledgement email that
contains the summary and terms and conditions of your application.

Please note: to complete your application, you MUST pay for your test place, and send all
supporting documents to your test centre by the stated deadline. If you do not do this by the
stated deadline, your application will be cancelled.

Completing your Registration

If you have paid online
• You must upload your Identity Document (Qataris: National ID/Passport and non-
Qataris: Passport only). Please note the ID document can only be uploaded in the
image format (.jpg, .bmp, .jpeg, .gif, .tif).
Alternately you can email them to general.enquiries@qa.britishcouncil.org. Please
mention your test date in the subject line.

* the 3 days payment grace period does not apply to candidates registering within a
week of the test; the centre administrator reserves the right to cancel the application
for administrative reasons.

Offline payment at the British Council

• A copy of this email confirming that you have registered online
• A photocopy of your valid passport (for expats) or Qatari ID (for Qatari Nationals)
Please note, if we do not receive the above documents & payment within 3 days, your
application may be cancelled

Refund and transfer Policy
British Council Qatar IELTS Refund & Transfer Policy:
Candidates who request a postponement or cancellation of their test within 5 weeks of
the test date will be charged the full fee unless they are able to provide appropriate
medical evidence to support their request. Medical evidence must be provided no later
than 5 days after the test date. Administration fee of QAR 260.00 will be deducted for
every refund & QAR 230.00 will be charged for every transfer.
If the candidate requests for a postponement or cancellation because of bereavement
of a close family member or hardship/trauma – victim of crime, victim of a traffic
accident, exemptions can be made provided valid evidence is presented.

*The approximate walking distance from the car park to the test hall is 20
minutes; please ensure you arrive in good time for the test. If you arrive late,
you will not be allowed to take the test, and No Refund/Transfer will be
provided.

Items not allowed in the examination hall

Mobile phones, wristwatches, bags, books or any other kind of equipment. All
valuables are the sole responsibility of the candidate. Candidates are advised NOT to
bring any valuables with them to the examination venue.

The speaking test may be scheduled on the same day as the Written Test or on
Friday, one day before the Written Test.
You'll receive a text message/email couple of days before the written test date
detailing the information about the speaking test date & time.
What you need on the test day

Qataris: A Valid Original National ID/Passport

Make sure you have the right ID with you. If you arrive with the wrong ID, you will not
be allowed to take the test, and No Refund/Transfer will be provided.

It is the candidate's sole responsibility to register with the right ID. No refund/transfer
will be provided if you register with the wrong ID and are unable to produce the
specified ID on the test day.
- Pencils, pens and erasers
- The Listening, Reading and Writing tests take 2 hours 40 minutes and there are no
breaks between each part of the test.
- Make sure you are prepared and have something to eat and drink beforehand. You
will not be allowed to take food into the test room; you will only be allowed to take a
drink in a transparent bottle.
Your IELTS Results
IELTS results process
Your IELTS results will be available 13 days* after your test and recorded on a Test
Report Form. You can preview your results online and we will also provide a preview
by SMS alert.
You can view your IELTS results on the website http://ielts-results.britishcouncil.org on
the 13th day and upto 2 weeks from the official result date. The results will also be
sent as SMS to your mobile number mentioned at the time of registration.

The IELTS results process ensures the Test Report Form detailing your results can be
collected from the British Council Customer Service. We don't post Test Report Form
unless the candidate request at the time of registration and candidates are liable to
pay the postage/courier fee. Centres are not permitted to give results over the phone
or by fax or email.
