The Problem and Its Background
Introduction
All About Avocados
Avocados are the darling of the produce section. They’re the go-to ingredient for
guacamole dips at parties. And they're also turning up in everything from salads and
wraps to smoothies and even brownies. So what, exactly, makes this pear-shaped berry
(yes, that’s right!) such a super food? Avocados are low in sugar. And they contain fiber,
which helps you feel full longer. In one study, people who added a fresh avocado half to
their lunch were less interested in eating during the next three hours. Avocados are high
in fat. But it's monounsaturated fat, which is a "good" fat that helps lower bad cholesterol,
as long as you eat them in moderation. Did you know that an avocado can be a
moisturizer! Moisturize skin the natural oils in an avocado can penetrate deep into the
skin, helping to soften and hydrate dry and flaky patches. Simply spread it on your dry
skin, leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes, shower or bathe in water and pat dry. And you can
get that-CLEB skin you want.

Health Benefits
Avocados are rich in nutrients it contains, 64 calories almost 6 grams of fat, 3.4 grams of
carbohydrate less than a gram of sugar and almost 3 grams of fiber.
Avocados are a great source of vitamins C, E, K, and B-6, as well as riboflavin, niacin,
folate, pantothenic acid, magnesium, and potassium. They also provide lutein, beta-
carotene, and omega-3 fatty acids, Although most of the calories in an avocado come
from fat, don’t shy away! Avocados are full of healthy, beneficial fats that help to keep you
full and satiated. When you consume fat, your brain receives a signal to turn off your
appetite. Eating fat slows the breakdown of carbohydrates, which helps to keep sugar
levels in the blood stable. Fat is essential for every single cell in the blood. Eating healthy
fats supports skin health, enhances the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, minerals, and
other nutrients, and may even help boost the immune system.
It is also healthy for the heart, Avocados contain 25 milligrams per ounce of natural plant
sterol called beta-sitosterol. Regular consumption of b beta-sitosterol and other sterols
has been seen to help maintain healthy cholesterol levels.
Avocado can help mommies to make their babies healthy, baby breast-feeding Folate in
extremely important for a healthy pregnancy. Adequate intake reduces the risk of
miscarriage and neural tube defects. Recent research from McGill University found a 30
percent higher incidence of a variety of birth defects in baby mice conceived using sperm
from mice with a folate deficiency compared with mice conceived using sperm from mice
with adequate folate levels.

Nutrients
Avocados are a Heart-Healthy, Nutrients-dense Superfood Nutrient-dense foods are
those that provide substantial amounts of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients with
relatively few calories. One-third of a medium avocado (50 g) has 80 calories and
contributes nearly 20 vitamins and minerals, making it a great nutrient-dense food choice.
Contains Good Fats the avocado is virtually the only fruit that contains heart-healthy
monounsaturated fat – good fat!
Naturally Sodium-, sugar- and Cholesterol-Free California Avocados are naturally
sodium-, sugar- and cholesterol-free.
AVOCADO NUTRIENTS
One-third of a medium avocado (50 g) has 80 calories and contributes nearly 20 vitamins,
minerals and phytonutrients, making it a heart-healthy choice to help meet nutrient needs.
Although phytonutrients are not essential, research suggests they may promote human
health.
The Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the American Heart Association recommend
eating less nutrient-poor foods and limiting the amount of saturated fat, trans fat, added
sugars and sodium consumed. The majority of fats in one’s diet should be heart-healthy
monounsaturated or polyunsaturated; more than 75 percent of the fat in avocados is
unsaturated, good fat.
Why naturally good fats? Because the body needs some dietary fat in moderation to help
with absorption of nutrients. Good fats, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, do
not raise LDL (“bad”) cholesterol levels.

Side Effects
Avoid during Pregnancy and Breast Feeding It is not advisable to eat avocado during
pregnancy and breast feeding. It may reduce milk production. It can also cause damage
to the mammary gland. If the breast feeding mother consumes avocado in large amount,
the baby will have an upset stomach.
No Avocado In Hypersensitivity People suffering from hypersensitivity should avoid eating
avocado. It may cause skin reaction or vomiting.
Adverse Effects Of Avocado Many people who consumed avocado suffered from adverse
effects like flu, paralysis, nausea, gastrointestinal disorder, vomiting, migraine, fever,
drowsiness, and asthma.
Liver Damage One of the serious side effects of avocados is that it can damage liver
health. There are certain types of avocado oil which may cause damage to your liver. Try
to avoid Mexican avocado which consists of estragole and anethole. These elements
have been tested for carcinogenic reactions. Thus, consumption of these may cause
damage to the liver. If you are suffering from compromised liver function and to avoid
avocado oil side effects, stop eating this fruit.
Sensitivity To Latex People who are sensitive to latex should avoid taking avocado as it
increases the level of serum IgE antibodies in the body which may cause allergic reaction.
Reduce Cholesterol You may be happy reading that avocado reduces cholesterol level.
Yes, that’s true, but if you consume it in large amount, it will harm your body as it is rich
in beta – sitosterol that absorbs necessary cholesterol from the body.
Restrict Its Consumption If You Are On Diet Avocado is a high calorie food and it will
increase your weight. So avoid eating them daily if you are on a diet.

Products
Avocado oil is one of the healthiest superfood oils. Just like the fruit itself, avocado oil is
packed full of healthy fats. It is made by pressing the fleshy pulp. If that wasn't good
enough, according to Authority Nutrition, unlike other nutritious oils like flaxseed oil,
avocado oil has a high smoke point, making it the perfect choice for cooking.
Avocado spread is just like mayonnaise, but packs a healthy concentration of nutrients
and is full of avo-goodness. Each bottle of avocado spread contains around 85%
avocado, plus a little lemon juice, white wine vinegar and grapeseed oil, for tang and extra
creaminess. It is vegan-friendly, and contains less cholesterol and calories than many
traditional, oil-based vegan mayonnaises.
I discovered this avocado smoothie pack recently at a food show. It's basically avocado
blended with fruit and grape juice (for sweetness), and a squeeze of lemon to stop the
mixture from going brown. It's so incredibly tasty, especially considering it is not a freshly
made smoothie. Perfect for an on-the-go snack or a quick-fix for your smoothie cravings.
Yes! Mayonnaise made from - you guessed it: avocado! Unlike avocado spread, avocado
mayonnaise looks and tastes like regular mayo, but is made with the goodness of
avocado oil. Are you salivating yet? Next time you make a sandwich, load it up with
avocado spread or avocado mayo. Use avocado oil for your weeknight stir fry, and try an
avocado smoothie pack for your midday snack. Because, let's face it, avocados are the
glue holding our lives together.
Avocado Moisturizer
I discovered that you can use avocado to moisturize your skin, it has oil that help to your
skin to be moisturize, it helps you to smoothen and soften your skin.
