John Sullivan, Sr. will be held at 2:00
pffi, Saturday, November 13, 2010, at
Philadelphia Baptist Church, Deville with
Reverand Mike Sullivan, Reverand Anthony
Mangum, Reverand Tom Jordan and Lodge
Chaplin, Shelton Reed officiating. Burial will be immediately following at
PhiladelphiaBaptist Church Cemetery,Deville, with Masonic Rites and Full
Military Honors by BarksdaleAFB, under the direction of Hixson Brothers,
Pineville.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, November 12, 2010, at
Hixson Brothers, Pineville, from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Saturdayfrom
8:00 am until 10:30. Visitation will also be at the church. Saturdav.from
12:00until time of service.

Richard "Dick" John Sullivan, Sr., 82, of Alexandria, LA, passed away
November10, 2010,at the V.A. NursingHome,Pineville.

Mr. Sullivanwas in the USCGMerchantMarinesfor two years,US Navy for


10 yearsand the US Air Forcefor 11 years.Mr. Sullivanwas also a deepsea
diver while in the Navy. He retired at VandenbergAir Force Base in
California,then obtaineda degreein educationfrom LSU and taught welding
and sheet metal at Peabody Magnet School,Alexandria, LA for 20 years.
One of the loves in his life was to make thingsfor family and friends with his
welding.Mr Sullivanwas a Master Mason and a memberof the W.D. Fisher
Masonic Lodge #480 of Deville, LA. Mr. Sullivan and his wife were past
Patron and Matron of the Ameranthein France.After moving back to the
U.S.they both becamepast Patronand Matron of the EasternStar.

He was precededin death by his parents,William Baptisteand Elva Barron


Sullivan;brothers,Roy Sullivan,Bobby Sullivan,and Huey Sullivan; sisters,
Edna Collins, Raye Skinner,Myrtis Parkerand Willie "Bill" Humbles.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, of 60 years, Audette
Sullivan,of Alexandria; sons,Richard J. Sullivan,II and wife Susanof San
Francisco,CA, Cliff C. Sullivanand wife Tina of Alexandria and StevenE.
Sullivan and wife Renee' of Plano, TX; brother, Freddie Sullivan and wife
Corine of Libuse; grandchildren,Sarah,John, James,Charissaand Tiffany;
great grandchildren,Bridgette, Cadence, Rylan, Livia and Addison; and
sisters-in-lawGertie Polk Sullivanand Yvonne SullivanPeel.

Honoring Richard "Dick" as pallbearerswill be JamesAlvin Sullivan,Eddie


Sullivan, Jackie Lynn Parker, Bobby Sullivan, Jr., Bennie Sullivan, Mike
Sullivan. Honorary pallbearerswill be Kirby Humbles, Dwayne Humbles,
David Humbles,ReggieHumbles,Alfred Humbles,and Richard Grier.

Memorials may be made to W.D. Fisher Lodge #480 in Deville, LA or


donor'schoice.
