Because of the immense impact a damper exhibits on the performance and life of your motor, the
right choice of damper requires a major decision that should be made carefully. Vector dampers are
based on a straightforward clutch/brake design. Over 20 years of experience have proven that the
clutch/break design is superior both in dampening torsional vibrations and in durability. The design
may be simple, but there is nothing simple about the craftsmanship and performance built into each
and every damper.
The standard series is the workhorse of our damper line. It can be used for
hundreds of applications, including special engines that need a lot of
dampening. The standard is recommended for inline 12's, 6's and big torque V-
8's that sustain high r.p.m's for extended periods of time. The standard
dampers' open inertia rings allows larger O.D. rings, resulting in heavier inertia
ring weights, thus resulting in better torsional control
The standard damper (as well as the Mega Pro) features lightweight CNC
machined steel mounting hubs and ultra lightweight aluminum housings,
resulting in QUICK engine response, necessary for all racing applications. The Standard and Mega
Pro can be used on all applications from the tamest stock street machines to the baddest NITRO
Guzzling pro mod and pro stocks.
If Olympics were held for damper performance the Vector Dampers, Mega Pro
would take the gold. When it comes to all around performance and protection it
beats all. Ideal for offroad use. The Mega Pro is a totally enclosed unit, sealed
to keep out the elements. It has T.D.C. and advance markings in the original
position and will accept stock timing pointers, unless otherwise noted. The Mega
Pro features lightweight steel mounting hubs and an ultra lightweight aluminum
housing. The Mega Pro should be your next damper, whether you drive a stock
street machine or the hottest pro mod.

Vector has developed a vibration damper for Harley Davidsons that replaces the compensator and
has been designed to reduce the inherent low frequency vibrations associated with Harley-Davidson
motorcycles.
Harley riders have always complained about the vibrations in their bikes. This vibration is caused by
Harley's unique uneven firing-order, which also produces the "sound" that has become synonymous
with Harley motorcycles. The design of the 45 degree V-twin also develops an irritating vibration
that is usually felt through the foot pegs and grips. The vibration caused by the motor travels
through-out the bike. In time, this can cause a rider's hands and legs to fall asleep, as well as loosen
bolts.
The Vector damper is a two-piece steel outer shell with two internal inertia rings all bolted together
complete with a new sprocket. The damper works to reduce normal vibration associated with
uneven firing of the V twin; you can think of it as a radial shock absorber removing up to 60 percent
of the vibration. It actually reduces the build-up of destructive, power-robbing, torsional vibrations
created by the oscillating twist of the crank shaft. This also helps the user to see objects in the rear
view mirror and eliminates the fatigue of a long distance ride.
