Arriving Onsite
1. Once you have arrived onsite you will need to contact your dispatch team. They will
email the Black Box Projects Help Desk and inform them of your arrival.
2. You will then go to the Service Desk and ask for an MOD.
3. You will introduce yourself to the MOD and let them know you are there for the SSI3
Project. (If they have any question about the project, refer them to their “MyProjects” web
portal for more details)
4. After introductions are made, you will then ask for MDF access and the location of the
new servers. If new servers cannot be located, please call the Black Box Projects
Bridge at: 1-408-792-6300 code: 645 999 751
5. The servers will have a “Hold For” sticker on them like the one shown below.
6. Once the servers are located, you will need to take a picture of the boxes as you
found them. This is to show that they were not opened and any damage to them, if
present, cannot be placed on you. This is a required deliverable.
7. You will then take an inventory of the equipment based on the list below. (If any
equipment is missing please call the Black Box Projects Bridge at 1-408-792-6300 code:
645 999 751)
8. The boxes and packing materials will need to be saved for the De-Install site visit. DO
NOT BREAKDOWN OR TRASH THE BOXES. They will be stored in the MDF. No other
area is acceptable. The location will then be noted on the Checklist located in
“Appendix B”. Instructions for what to do with the server boxes is located on page 21.
9. After inventory is complete, take a picture of the packing list that has the QA
signature on it. This is a required deliverable.
10. Upload the 2 pictures taken via the “Check-In Deliverables” link.
11. If any items are missing or damaged please call the Black Box Projects Bridge at
1-408-792-6300 code 645 999 751.

7’ Patch Cables for “Host A” and
“Host B” That Need To Be Staged For
The De-Installation Site Visit
These cables will be connected to the server and staged above the switches.
THEY DO NOT GET PLUGGED INTO THE SWITCHES ON THIS VISIT. These
cables must not be plugged into the switches. If these cables are plugged into
the switches it will cause your port check to fail. This will delay your sites final
verification.

“Host A” and “Host B”
Power Connections
1. There are 2 power connections per server. Each connection needs
to be plugged into a different power strip in the rack.
2. For 4 Post Racks both servers may have 1 power cord each that
connects to the same power strip. This is OK.
3. The servers may power on when you plug them in. You will hear
the fans kick to high if this happens. That is OK as well.
4. When all power cables are connected and the servers are
powered on, proceed to the next section “Server IP Configuration
Instructions”.
