Introduction

An efficient database system is constantly needed. In the Internet Age, data is a

commodity. If every piece of information is properly organized, the traffic in the world wide web

will be smooth and free-flowing. Consequently, this will improve everybody’s day-to-day lives.

But the database systems of today have more to improve. The future holds endless possibilities.

Current Database Programming Trends

According to Baldini and her colleagues (2017), one of the leading trends in database

programming systems today is the cloud-computing execution model serverless computing. It

marks the adoption of more cloud-based technologies. In writing the database programs,

Javascript is still being preferred by professionals and amateurs alike.

The Future of Database and Its Programming Language

In the next twenty years, it is highly possible that Artificial Intelligence will govern the

logistics of database programming. In the current era, the use of A.I. is still in its baby stages.

However, many experts foresee that this trend will dominate the future. Most forms of the

existing database programming systems and languages will most likely be abandoned. Müller

and Bostrom (2016) estimate that around 2040–2050 high-level A.I. entities are already

regulating and organizing data flow. But before this can happen, a transition from cloud-based

to cloudless servers would probably occur first. The changes are becoming more apparent

especially on commonly used gadgets. Smartphones and personal computers are developed to

house as much internal database as possible. And the data-sharing features of the said devices are

significantly being enhanced as well.

Conclusion

Ever since the introduction of computers and the internet, the future draws faster than

ever before. In the field of database programming language, serverless and cloudless systems are

paving a new era. Most of these systems are becoming more user-friendly and convenient. And

in the next twenty years, these systems will be managed by A.I. and day-to-day living will be

made even better.
