• Say the same greeting to the people who already greet you
• If they ask you with the questions; “How are you?” or “How is everything?” or “How are you

so bad” or “Very well, thank you” or “Yeah / yes”. (Principally it is according to our own
condition / mood)

A. Sentence or Statement
There are 4 basic patterns of English sentences;
1. SUBJECT – VERB – OBJECT / ADVERB
e.g. : - They study English at school
- The teacher will give extra lesson
2. SUBJECT – TO BE – COMPLEMENT
e.g. : - She is happy
- her husband is a famous doctor in this town.
3. THERE – TO BE – SUBJECT
e.g.: - There are many tourists in Bali
- There is a large library in my school
4. IT – TO BE – COMPLEMENT
e.g.: - It is important to study foreign language.
- It is true that parent should take part in the education of their children.

TOPIC 6
NOUNS

There are two nouns in English, countable and uncountable nouns. Countable nouns are group of noun
which can be counted for each, for example; apple, book, girl, student, pen, etc., while Uncountable
nouns are group of noun that cannot be counted or they belong to abstract nouns, such as; knowledge,
wind, sugar, money, water, etc.
And to say plural noun, the countable nouns must be added with s or es, but not for uncountable ones.
For example: some books, many students, several watches, etc.
some water, some sugar, much money, many knowledge, etc
