For whom it may concern,

Tyler Walker worked as an Application Engineer intern in my group during the summer of 2015 under
my supervision and once there was an opening in our group, I recommended hiring Tyler for a full time
position an Application Engineer, which he started in January 2019 - also under my supervision. During
the summer internship, Tyler demonstrated independence and high technical skills. Together with his
partner, Tyler has developed a C-based application for Raspberry Pi to measure the frequency response
of our MEMS based accelerometers. In addition to the software support, Tyler was responsible to
prepare and setup hardware infrastructure such as a shaker device, signal amplifiers, and oscilloscope.
Additional tasks completed by Tyler included improvement of the existing demos used for product
promotions. In particular, Tyler simplified and automated the Bluetooth connection protocol between a
speaker and the Intel Edison’s evaluation and development kit. All the work was carefully planned,
carried out with little, to no supervision and well documented.

In his role of an Application Engineer, Tyler once again displayed excellence in many areas that resulted
in improving methods and procedures for component evaluation and testing. In particular, Tyler
demonstrated solid skills with MATLAB, C#, C++, Embedded C and Python, as well as proficiency with
measuring equipment and soldering. Tyler’s ability to create numerous automated scripts have
improved my team’s efficiency and saved us time to also provide best in class global customer technical
support. In this area of the job, Tyler has communicated clearly and effectively with external customers
from around the world, providing technical support needed to resolve complex issues across many
industries. This often required working closely with colleagues internally who had the expertise in the
relevant areas.

Without hesitation, I can say Tyler will be an asset for any organization.
