Week No.: 9 Final Period : March 19-23 2018

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, should be able to:
a. Identify the parameter to be tested given a real life problem
b. Formulate the appropriate null and alternative hypothesis on population mean
c. Compute for the test statistic value
d. Draw conclusion about the population mean based on the statistic value and the rejection region
II. Subject Matter
Hypothesis testing about a Population mean when the variance is known
 Definition
 Solving hypothesis
 Illustration of hypothesis testing

III. Reference & Materials

 Statistics and Probability book
 Laptop and projector for the power point presentation
 White board marker

IV. Procedure
a. Daily Routine

b. Motivation
Recall the last topic about Parameter and statistics formula
c. Lesson Proper
 Sampling distributions
 Means of sample
 Variance and standard deviation of sample distributions

d. Activity

e. Generalization
 It is very important for every student to learn how to solve the sample distributions to compare
the value of population mean and the sample distribution
 It will be helpful to solve the sample distribution in the future research
V. Evaluation
Quiz no. 2

Test of the ff. hypothesis using the given information

1. The head of the math department announced that the mean score of grade 9 students in the first periodic
examination in mathematics was 89 and the standard deviation was 12. One students who believed that the
mean score was less than this, randomly selected 34 students and computed their mean score. She
obtained a mean score of 85 at 0.01 level significance, test the student’s belief.
