THE RESEARCH PROBLEM

What is the
Research ○ It is the situation that needs a solution.
Problem?
○ It is a discrepancy of what is and what is
ought to be.

○ It is the gap knowledge that needs to be

filled.

Research Problem
How do you compose it?
What are the things to do and what are the
steps to take?
1.
Select a broad
area of interest

Immersion
2.
Turn the topic
into a statement.
“ 13

4.
Ask at least 3
questions.
“ 20

From the main question, think of at least

3 questions that will lead to answering
your research problem.

Example:

1. What is the relation of the respondents’ assigned work

immersion area to the track that they belong to?
2. What are the relationships of the respondents’
exposure/task in their assigned area to the track that they
belong to?
3. How do the respondents perceive the essence of their
experience during work immersion to their studies?

Why is it important?

Definition

Significance of the Study

○ Basically, it is contains the beneficiaries of the study
and how the study will benefit them.

○ Provides information to the reader on how the study

will contribute to a particular group of beneficiaries.

○ What the study will contribute and who will benefit

from it must be specifically stated.
TAKE NOTE

Take These Notes

1

THINK
OF AT LEAST
3
BENEFICIARIES
2

THINK OF THE STUDY’S BENEFIT

• State the reason why your chosen

beneficiary is directly involved with
the problem.

• Also, state how the study will

benefit your chosen beneficiaries.
3
THE BENEFICIARIES SHOULD BE LISTED
IN A DEDUCTIVE MANNER

General to Specific

1. 2. 3.
The Agency or The respondents of Other researchers
Community directly the study (Specific). (Specific).
affected by the
problem (General).
29

General:

The Basic Education System of the Philippines.

This study would urge the Department of Education to
enforce strict screening of teachers with whom they should
critically deliberate to ensure that the formative years in
school, especially in the basic education, are fruitful for the
students and not the teachers.
30

Specific:

Teachers. This study would pave way for teachers to

understand learners who exhibit a slow pace inside the
classroom. This study will also benefit them through being
able to come up with a learning aid for these types of
learners. Teachers will also be well informed that the
existence if language learning difficulties is not a reason for
students to be left out.
31

Specific:

Learners. This study would check the

comprehension of the students who study literature and for
the students to know with what language they usually excel
in; thus, discovering where they should focus on for
academic development. They will be also salvaged from the
idea of people that their struggles just stem from their pure
idiocy and the tendency for them to be left out in class.
32

Specific:
Parents. This study would benefit parents in a
sense that they can be aware of the weaknesses if their child
that may lead to some difficulties in school, especially in the
study of literature or even language. Parents can extend
instruction at home, while knowing what aspect of their child
their can work on.
33

Specific:

Researchers. This study would help the researchers

who would like venture deeper on the academic failures that
may serve as evidences of language learning difficulties. This
way, researchers can suggest programs that will cater each
aspect of language learning that learners find difficulty in.
